IPTV Recording Freezes
Hi.
I hope someone can answer my question. I have flashed the latest version (but i don't think it matters). IPTV streaming works flawlessly, but after I start recording i have freezes and picture artefacts. Recording via satellite stream works without problems.
Tnx

I have exactly the same problem with last image openATV 6.0 which I setup on box yesterday. I can watch steams without any problem but when I start recording after about 5 seconds picture on TV become frozen. Recording file is OK so I cant watch TV while I am recording. Time shift does not working at all. IPTV stream in this case is set like this 4097:0:1: .....
If I set IPTV stream like 1:0:1: ..... than after I star recording I have freezes and picture artefacts about 15-30 seconds after that time picture become stable and recording also. I can start time shift but I have freezes and picture artefacts all the way.
Any Idea how we can fix this problem?
Interesting thing is that I can go and watch recorded file while I am recording which means that time shift should be possible?
Thanks!

After days and days spending on the internet searching for solution and testing different images I finally understand why recording and time shift does not work on IPTV. In the near future IPTV will become very popular as days by day there are less sattelite channels available. On the internet there is no explanation any ware about recording problems, so I decided to make one.
Currently for recording, second stream must be open. That can work on non IPTV channels just fine because second steam is made internal in the box with tuner. In IPTV case box wants to make second stream connection with your IPTV provider. That means box will make about 15-25Mbs download for a single channel! I found on PLI forum that some guys few years ago (2015) did worked on recording stream for (4097:0:1......). They made changes in E2 which made stream 4097:0:1 recordable, stream 1:0:1 .... they left intact. So for stream 4097:0:1 they made it to work like I said with 2 stream's to the source, one for live TV and one for recording. That was the easy fix because E2 code is made like that, two or more connection with internal tuner is not a problem but for IPTV second connection is terrible idea.
1. If your can connect with 2 streams with your IPTV provider.
Stream setup 1:0:1 .... in that case live TV and recording will not work! Box will open 2 streams and on screen we have freezes and picture artefacts. Look's like 2 streams' are mixing together.
Stream setup 4097:0:1 .... in that case live TV and recording will work! Box will open 2 streams and you will have download 15-25Mbs for a single HD channel!
2. If your can connect only with 1 stream with your IPTV provider.
Stream setup 1:0:1 .... in that case live TV and recording will maybe work! (for me its working). Like I said above when two connections are opened looks like they are mixing together and we have freezes and picture artefacts. In this case IPTV provider will close one of those two connections and you will have just one at the end. Live picture and recording will become stable after second connection is closed. This process takes about 20-50 seconds because box is trying to made connection with 2 streams, after that time box will gave up. So in about 20-50 seconds you will have freezes and picture artefacts on live TV and recording after that time picture should become stable. When you stop recording, live TV picture will froze because recording thread will close stream to your IPTV provider, you need rezap to make live TV working again. Interesting is when you stop recording, live TV picture will froze but if you press recording again live TV will be working again and recording will be also fine!
Stream setup 4097:0:1 .... in that case you have to chose live TV or recording. If you press recording live TV will stop, picture will become frozen because new connection for recording is open. IPTV provider will close previous connection which we used for live TV. Box will not try to make second stream connection to IPTV provider so picture will remain frozen but recording will be just fine.
All recordings can be manual or on timer does not matter, of course.
Explation is made with live TV and reording together!
Only live TV without recording works in any case! (4097:0:1 ....), (1:0:1 .... )
With stream setup 4097:0:1 .... Time shift is not supported, you cant not run it. With stream setup 1:0:1 .... you can run Time shift but will not work. Box close live TV stream to your IPTV provider and box is not trying to open new stream at all. When you unpause event, you will have picture artefacts on screen which seems to run in the loop. To make live TV working again you need to rezap.
I guess that's all about that.
Unfortunately it seems that currently noone is working on IPTV recording problem. I have no idea how complicated would be to change E2 to use only one stream in IPTV case. Maybe one solution could be to internally restream live TV stream and then we could connect recording thread to that internal stream. In this case E2 recording code will stay same we will just change recording source stream from IPTV provider to internal. Second I guess complicated solution would be to change E2 recording code regarding IPTV to use data from live TV stream. Maybe we could pass just live TV stream handle to the recording thread instead opening new stream. I don't know, I never worked on E2.
And at the end something else.
For IPTV you need to have image in your box in which you can setup in Time Setting's, time refresh from NTP server! If you have only option time Sync from transponder than that will not work. Except in PLI, they have just Sync from transponder but if transponder time is not available box will Sync time with NTP server without your setup. Box images which are receiving time only from transponder will NOT update EPG times on infobar after event change! That's is normal because on IPTV there is no transponder and there is maybe no current time data in IPTV streams. (like in my case).
When I boot box from deep standby on IPTV channel, without NTP settings current time will NOT update (VTI, BlackHole). Than if you change channel to any transponder current time will be updated but infobar EPG times on IPTV still will not update after event change. To be clear when you zap on IPTV channel all will be fine. When current event comes to the end EPG titles on infobar will change to next event but EPG start-end times will remain the same! If you have image with NTP settings all will be fine.
That is all for now ....

try Systemplugin-Serviceapp and use exteplayer3 or
try to use IPTVPlayer for play this ipstream.
Both you have a possibility to change the Mediaframwork and try with or without buffer.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I have NO problems width IPTV live stream, but I do have problems with IPTV live recording + IPTV live stream watching in same time, like everyone else. What's happening I did explain in my other post. So Systemplugin-Serviceapp and exteplayer3 will help if you have problem with IPTV live stream, but it will not fix IPTV stream recording + watching problem in the same time.
