Btw, in DB BIOS one can boot from:

-flash
-usb
-cf

from what I saw...

Can eSATA HDD be used for booting as /cf, please? Anyone knows?

I wouldn't do it, since the HDD would be running all the time but some people can't get the USB HW installed...

One more thing re. the original boxes - I am no HW geek but I found this and I am wondering if it could be that simple, just plug this into the BD500HD motherboard, if it has the 9 pin USB port? (I don't have the original box...)

So, they asked me about 800HD PVR and it seemed it (and DB8000) has (have) the BIOS which can be edited to boot from a USB stick...

In which case, in principle, the same could be done for those old ladies...

The last ATV I found for 800 is v. 6.1. I suppose this should work... If they try I will let you know...
