Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Updated the V2 via online update. (I was going to use USB but the V2 could not find the file.) All went smoothly. Normal channel selection worked fine. However, on selecting media for playback, there is a very long pause before the list appears. The 'wait circle' also shows. The selected item does play. The other problem is, when using the EPG screen to select a program to record, again there is a very long delay before it reacts to a button push. The 'wait circle' also shows. Is there anything that I can check? Should I go back to V7.4?

Hi Tony,
Did you perform a full online flash to do the upgrade? If not your receiver will be in an inconsistent state. This update requires a full flash, online updates are not enough. Please confirm how you upgraded so we can offer the most appropriate advice.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Ian,
Update:
Did a full USB recovery using openatv-7.5.1-beyonwizv2-20250109_recovery_emmc.zip. No difference to the network update noticed. I have refined the problem down to operations using the hdd. Going Menu, Information, Storage /Disks it takes some time to list the information.
Same with Setup, Playback-Recording-Timeshift, Settings takes a long time to display the information. But the most noticeable problem is seem when using the EPG to set recordings. Here after pressing the green button nothing happens then after a considerable delay the 'wait circle' appears then the screen changes to the recording information. Media playback operates normally.
Regards Tony

Hi Tony,
You will find that using "MENU > Setup > Software Management > Flash Online" is significantly easier and faster way to do a full and proper upgrade of you box.
How are your disks connected? What kinds of disks are you using?

Ian.

Hi Tony,
I have discussed your observations with other developers and we are at a loss to explain a sudden change in disk performance.
When did this start? Have you noticed any other issues or symptoms? Are there any errors in the logs? Have you checked the disk integrity?
Please provide as much information as possible to help us understand the issue. If you have a specific way to force the issue then describe all the steps so we can try to reproduce the issue.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Ian,
The V2 was unusable using V7.5.1. I did a flash online and took it back to V7.4 2Jan2025. Now back to normal (no lags) operation.
No settings needed to be changed or made.
Noticed in the storage/disks information that information appears immediately, unlike V7.5.1 Also dev/sdc information looks OK showing:
External
TOSHIBA(External USB 3.0)
1.000 TB
partition - sdc1
mountpoint - /media/hdd
From what I remember on 7.5.1, /dev/sdc information was very different listing some gibberish and then much more info under sdc1.
Thanks for considering this problem. I will not be going to V7.5.1 any time soon.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Tony,
Can you please use OpenWebif to capture the "Storage / Disks" screen for 7.4 and 7.5.1. Please highlight what you consider to be the gibberish. Please also capture the debug logs from 7.4 and again from 7.5.1. In both sets of logs please perform the actions that create the issues that effect 7.5.1.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Tony,
Is the disk spinning when you try to use it? Could the disk be spinning up and that is causing the delay and spinner?
In addition to the other tests can you also please provide the following information for both versions of OpenATV:
Enable debug log setting
Restart
Wait 10 minutes after boot
Send the log

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Ian,
I have spent enough time on the V2 in the last week. From my perspective, the V2 is running OK on 7.4 so I will leave it that way until I catch up with some other projects. It seems you are being loaded up with many Beyonwiz problems. This is not urgent for me, so will follow this up later on. I will keep an eye on this forum in the mean time.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Tony,
We are homing in on the possibility that the disk is powering down when the unit is idle and you are seeing the spin up delay. This is not yet confirmed but when you do run the next tests please listen closely to the drive to confirm when it is and isn't spinning.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Tony,
The logs have been analysed and the delays and spinner are being caused by your network mounts. This does not appear to be a hard disk issue.
You may want to remove your network mounts and retest the disk performance. If the issue goes away then you can focus your attention to your network.

Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Ian,
Regards Tony
Your analysis was correct. I reloaded V7.5.1 and then deleted all the shares. There was a problem because one share I deleted (popup indicate it was deleted) did not clear and when I tried to delete it again there was a long pause followed by a crash. After the restart the screen was frozen and all key presses were rejected except the power button. Pressed the power button again to restart and the V2 started normally with no shares. Every thing now operates perfectly with no lagsIanSav hat geschrieben: ↑13 Jan 2025 13:07 The logs have been analysed and the delays and spinner are being caused by your network mounts. Re: Beyonwiz V2 Very Slow after update to V7.5.1
Hi Tony,
Then you should add the shares, one at a time, until you can identify the share causing the issue and then work out what is wrong with that share.
Regards,
Ian.
