Hi Teddles,
Wow! That is out of left field. Can you please post a crash log and I will investigate.
Regards,
Ian.

Hi Ian, no crash log generated ... I have to abort the boot sequence to recover control. Will delve further into the issue from my side before getting back to you (user error could be a distinct possibility here

Update
Just successfully online flashed yesterday's build [2025-04-03]. A gremlin in build [2025-04-02] perhaps? Or was my V2 box just having a bad day?

Hi Teddles,
I believe that there was a build issue that has been fixed.
You should now also have the code that will allow you to test the subtitles on all DVB-T broadcasts. Please let us know how it goes.

Ian.

Re: Subtitles out of sync on recorded programs on ABC
Ian, in the main, preliminary testing has been positive. Subtitles in sync across various recorded programs on different services.IanSav hat geschrieben: 04 Apr 2025 05:12 You should now also have the code that will allow you to test the subtitles on all DVB-T broadcasts.
I've found, however, some patchy subtitle performance on SBS (both live tv and recordings). Nothing as severe as the original out-of-sync issue though.
Maybe just an SBS thing but will follow up with more testing on that one.
Update:
Can't confirm whether it's just limited to SBS programming, but subtitles on SBS live TV can be all over the shop depending on the program being broadcast. As would be expected, a Beyonwiz V2 running stock firmware in parallel with the oATV V2 box, exhibited the same issues.
Importantly, subtitles of recorded programs that were tested, matched live TV, i.e. subtitles in sync if live TV was in sync.
Based on my limited testing, I would say the subtitle fix is good to go!

Re: Subtitles out of sync on recorded programs on ABC
Hi Teddles,
As well as the testing of the new subtitle code in Australia there has been testing done in Germany. There has been no detrimental affects noted by German users using the new code. (They never had the issues you, and other Australian users, reported.)
Just as a final confirmation, do you have any issues or concerns about the new subtitle code that should stop us publishing these fixes to all OpenATV users?
Regards,
Ian.
P.S.
If the issue is now resolved, it would also be appreciated if you can note the correction for Australian subtitles in the Whirlpool and any other forums where the issue was raised.
Regards,
Ian.

Will do. However, based on the forums I frequent, the issue doesn't seem to be a major concern (thread OP @kw_broadens being an exception). If the issue is now resolved, it would also be appreciated if you can note the correction for Australian subtitles in the Whirlpool and any other forums where the issue was raised.

Hi GH_162,
I only hang out in the Beyonwiz area of the forum so I didn't find the earlier English posts on this issue. This issue turned out to be significantly prevalent for Australian Beyonwiz users which drew my/our attention to the issue.
I am glad that our fix has resolved the issue for everyone.
Regards,
Ian.
