When you say PC web connection are you talking about accessing OpenWebif on the GigaBlue? If so, go to MENU > Information > Network and note the IP address of the GigaBlue. Go to your computer and enter the URL http://<ipaddress>/ and you should see the OpenWebif screen.
If this is not what you meant then please explain the issue again.

IanSav hat geschrieben:When you say "receiver" do you mean a USB tuner? If so, you will probably need to install the drivers for that tuner. Do you know which chipset is used by that tuner. Go to MENU > Plugins > GREEN (Install Plugins) > Driver Packages and select the driver to install. Plug in the tuner and then reboot the box. Hopefully your tuner will be found and activated.
I'm clearly not a interwebs expert, so I have no clue whether this is of any help, but this is what comes up if I ask file explorer for more choices when trying to access the Giga box.
"No valid certificates were found on this smart card Please try another smart card or contact your administrator" Could it be a driver problem? I don't see why this box, being so similar to the Wiz, would be such a pain to access? Thanks
The problem is seeing the Giga HDD in Windows explorer.

No, I have been able to access webif on my browser from the start. see above. Thanks
IanSav hat geschrieben:Are you still trying to access the GigaBlue from your PC File Explorer? Are you using Windows 11?
Yeah, Win 11 Pro File Explorer. As I mentioned earlier, I can access the Wiz V2 HDD from File Explorer, so I don't understand why I can't access the GigaBlue UHD Trio 4K PRO? I'm currently using the Ethernet port for a clean connection, sames as the Wiz. If push comes to shove, I'll buy a USB to WiFi dongle, although given I needed a driver for the receiver, I'm guessing I'll need one for the WiFi? If you can't figure it out, then I'm screwed. Thanks
IanSav hat geschrieben:Did you install the Samba service, enable AutoStart and confirm that it is running?
Yeah, as I mentioned in an earlier post, Samba is active and starts with the box. I've tried everything that makes sense to a novice in the area, I don't understand why this box doesn't work where the Wiz does? I would have thought they would use very similar protocols. Thanks
IanSav hat geschrieben:I am not asking you to type that into a web browser. I want you to type that into Windows File Explorer. (I am not a Windows 11 user but I assume the tool to browse the files on your hard disk is still called File Explorer.
Yeah, not trying to be obtuse here, but that is what I have been doing the whole time. I'm not too flash with networks, but I'm reasonably ofay with Windows. Type the web address into file explorer, and it opens the web browser, firefox. This is as frustrating for me as it no doubt is for you, I appreciate your patience. thanks
IanSav hat geschrieben:What, exactly, are you typing into Windows File Explorer?
I don't need to type anything, just use the network finder function in file explorer, and it brings up a list of network connected devices, of which obviously the Giga is one. Simply double click, and it opens a username and password box. This works a treat for most network connected devices including the Wiz, which opens the folders on that box, which can then be manipulated, I would expect the same for the Giga, being a similar setup. I would think it would be very similar on a Mac, or linux machine, although I'm not conversant with either, particularly Mac's (never used one). Is this not the case for you when connecting to online devices?
Did you set a password on the GigaBlue box?
Use MENU > Setup > System > Network > Password Settings to set the password on the GigaBlue and then use the the username "root" and the password you just created to log into the GigaBlue.
If you used the command I suggested earlier, "\\<ipaddress>\" then that would eliminate the need for browsing to the GigaBlue box.

It was always going to be something very simple, wasn't it? Anyway, that solved the problem, however..! That is not how I access the Wiz, although I suspect it should have been all along (years even), I've always used the username and password function in the "mount Manager" "user management", box ID, "username and password". And it has always worked. Which is why I, and I suspect you, have been pulling copious amounts of hair out over this. This was an absolute pain, and I am very glad you had the patience to figure it out in the end. You were a massive help and a gent on the Beyonwiz forum, and you still are. But don't run away... this is a new box, I am but a newb and I still have Questions. I can finally set this bugger up though, Thank You very much mate
IanSav hat geschrieben:Not a problem. Hopefully as you learn and get familiar with your new box you can stay and help other Beyonwiz escapees as they find their way here.
Heh, I'm like an early IBM PC, sometimes you have to bash the information in a few times for it to take. Happy to help... but do you really want me to?
Ok, the LAN connection is literally 10Mb/s, with the Wiz V2 I get 95Mb/s, this is an issue. I'm assuming I can't just buy a nice fast USB to WiFi dongle without a driver that is compatible with the GBTRIO4KPRO, which leads me to my next Question, How do I go about finding a suitable fast dongle that has a compatible driver in the Giga box? Thanks
My GigaBlue has a gigabit connection. All the receivers I have seen all have at least a 100mbps network interface. Are you sure you are only getting 10mbps?
Have you checked that the cable you are using is okay (and has all 8 wires)? What does the network information screen show about your connection?

Same cable I had connected to the Wiz, so that wouldn't be the issue. I can buy a fast USB Wifi dongle, there are dozens of them available, the problem is the driver. I can see a list of USB WiFi drivers in the Plugin driver packages, but trying to find a dongle that matches any of those drivers is near impossible. What I need is a match list of dongles that might work with those drivers, or at least work with the GBTRIO4KPRO using the drivers available. I can feel my blood pressure rising again.
