Unterschied zu GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K
Hi,

The fact it has 4k after in name tells you it is UHD where as the older Gigablue Quad is just HD,
but you are correct the section should be called GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K

Re: Unterschied zu GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K
Okay, what then is the difference between „GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K“ and „GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K Pro“? What should I buy? I bought the „UHD Trio 4K Pro“ a few months ago and was quite disappointed with respect to its (lack of) audio capabilities (not to mention the subtitle timing bug). So I am reluctant to buy another „Pro“ variant even though it is much more expensive than the Trio. On the other hand, I also want a DVB-T2 tuner. Could I use the one from the „UHD Trio 4k Pro“ in the „UHD Quad 4k Pro“? (I guess I read somewhere here that I can't use it in the UHD Quad 4k right?)urie hat geschrieben: 15 Feb 2025 13:56

Thanks for those links but unfortunately, the don't tell me how AAC(-HE) or AC3+ audio streams are handled via hdmi. With the Trio Pro there is no way to pass AAC-HE through to my AV-Receiver (it is the only audio stream type used by the German ARD group over DVB-T). It is unconditionally downmixed to PCM and even worse to stereo only! That is simply not acceptable for me. My VU+ Ultimo4k on the other hand also converts AAC to PCM but at least it's possible to preserve all 5.1 channels. Then again the Ultimo4k has problems with AC3+. Whenever you switch from AC3 or AAC stations to a station with AC3+ you hear nothing. Only if the previous stream was PCM or already AC3+ there is a signal sent to the AV receiver. See this thread for details. So I want a box that works for all audio stream types by passing it through or at least downmix it to AC3 with all channels preserved. I am not sure that either uhd quad 4k or the uhd quad 4k pro fits the bill.

Re: Unterschied zu GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K
Great, thanks, but what Box is that? According to your signature it's UHD Quad 4k without Pro right? What I want to know is what other options are there for AAC downmix? Also, I'm a bit confused about the "AAC transcoding off", if AAC is downmixed it surely needs transcoding, no? What kind of signal gets to your AV receiver via hdmi (assuming your using one or maybe your TV if it tells you that) when you use the different AAC options? And do you happen to know if it is the same on the Pro? AC3+ isn't mentioned at all but then that is also not mentioned on the Trio Pro and it works.urie hat geschrieben: 16 Feb 2025 16:28Here are images of my options for audio on one of my DVB-T channels if you want to tell me what option to change so you can see if possible.dvboxer hat geschrieben: 16 Feb 2025 16:04 Thanks for those links but unfortunately, the don't tell me how AAC(-HE) or AC3+ audio streams are handled via hdmi. Pass-through
Convert to multi-channel PCM
Convert to AC3
Convert to DTS
Use best / Controled by HDMI
AAC plus Downmix options are the same as above
Here is images of main audio settings page
Also I am in the UK don't know if tv DVB-T here is different.
