Danke,

I also seek info on this unit.

1) The advert says it has SP-DIF out but I can't see any connectors on the photos. Is this correct?

2) I often use the satellite receiver to listen to radio programs. I would prefer to be able to turn the TV (HDMI connected) off when only listening to music, is this possible via the RCA or SPDIF outputs?

Hello, my new James Donkey satellite receiver is not displaying an image on the TV, neither through the HD port nor through the AV cable. Is there a solution?

Far too little information about your problem!
All we can do is guess.
Broken receiver, broken HDMI cable, broken TV set, wrong settings in the box,
and so on.....

The receiver light on the power button is working. The cable works on other devices, but the receiver does not transmit the image from all display ports, even though it is new.[

Please flash the current version of OpenATV 7.5.1 on your JamesDonkey and when flashing, please do not apply any old settings, but set up everything completely fresh.

Only then will you have a defined status and everything will probably be OK if the receiver has no damage to the hardware.

Greetings......Mr.Servo

Here is the PM to me, which I am publishing because the topic is certainly of interest to everyone:

-<Start quote>-------------------------------------------------------
Hello,

I recently had a James Donkey device and encountered an issue while trying to use it. Here’s what happened:

1. I uploaded an image file to a flash memory.
2. I pressed the power button and inserted the adapter cable into the device.
3. The device did not take the images.
4. As soon as I inserted the adapter cable, the light turned red and quickly changed to blue automatically.

I’m unsure how long I should hold the power button. I tried holding it for 10, 20, and even 30 seconds, but nothing happened.

Could you please clarify:
- How many seconds should I hold the power button for proper operation?
- If the issue is hardware-related, where could the fault be?
- Can this be fixed, or is it a manufacturing defect?
- What might be the cause of the fault, especially since the device is new?

I’d appreciate your guidance on resolving this issue.
-----------------------------------------------------<End quote>---

@Ibrahim Al-Khajh : It could be possible that the flash memory of your James Donkey (which one?) is full and the imported image has taken the air out of OpenATV. It is generally not a good idea to fill the flash memory of the boxes with large "external files". This all belongs on the external USB stick or hard disk (whether internal or USB).

As I already wrote:
Please flash the current version of OpenATV 7.5.1 on your JamesDonkey and when flashing, please do not apply any old settings, but set up everything completely fresh.Only then will you have a defined status and everything will probably be OK if the receiver has no damage to the hardware.

The problem you describe is not due to how long you hold down the power button.

Greetings.....Mr.Servo

I am sorry I wrote (flash) in my country we call it flash memory, I meant USB memory. Yes, that is exactly what I did. I put the image from OpenATV 7.5.1 in the USB memory and put it in the device, but it was not downloaded to the device and the screen continued to show that there was no signal as if the connected device was off, knowing that it was on

Thank you for describing your procedure in detail!

It is often due to incompatibilities with USB sticks that the boot flashing (e.g. recovery) does not work. Please try out a few USB sticks!
It is often helpful if you throw old promotional USB sticks (often only 2-4 GB) into the race, because some boxes are like a diva with USB sticks. The old USB sticks are simply better for some boxes.
Hint: If you have found a good USB stick in your "problem box", then you should label it and reserve it exclusively for this box. Then you at least have the certainty: "So it's not the USB stick..."

Here is a detailed description (German/English) of how to install OpenATV on a box: viewtopic.php?t=35495#p310762

Further help:
- Switch off the box at the back of the switch and switch it on again by holding down the OK button on the switch. You will then enter the recovery menu and can either start another slot (if available) or flash a new image from there.

- switch power off, plug USB-Stick into box, press STANDBY-Button* of box and switch power on simultaneous. After 5-10 seconds you can release STANDBY-Button* (after flashing-process has started). The Box will display the flashing-prcess on its' display (if available) and/or USB-stick is blinking).

*= In case the SetTop-Box is not equipped with a STANDBY-Button, during this stage please press any button on your remote control instead. For some boxes you have to press green_button instead of STANDBY-Button

I hope all this can help you to bring your box back to life.

Good luck and greetings......Mr.Servo

If you are not familiar with pressing any keys at the box while power on, just unpack the archive with 7zip and folder structure on the usb-drive, rename the file \dinobot\u42\noforce to \dinobot\u42\force, unplug the usb-drive from the PC, plug it into the box as the only usb-device, power on the box, and just wait - do not press any key, do not switch off, for the flashing is in process. Wait for the box to restart, and remove the usb-drive from the box.
