Nach Installation des neuen Recovery geht die Box nach einschalten mit angesteckter HDD am USB3 Port sofort in Recovery, Ziehe ich die HDD raus bootet sie normal.
HDD ist 1TB mit externen Netzteil.

Sind eventuell Update-Dateien im Root-Verzeichnis deiner angeschlossenen Festplatte gelandet ?

Morgen,
ich habe jetzt alles soweit eingerichtet und möchte jetzt eine Image Sicherung, Full Backup machen.
es werden mir zwei Images Angeboten.
einmal als USB Recovery und einmal als (aktuelles Image)
welche soll ich da nehmen?

Für Images flashen muss die Box zwingend im LAN sein , dann seht ihr verfügbare images in Bild 3

nimm das normale aktuelles Image ,das kannst einfach onlineflashen

Hi
Erstmal Danke an das komplette Team.
Hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Wäre es möglich das man irgendwann noch im recovery Menü die Funktion hinzufügt das man backups von den slots machen kann. So wie es zb. auf der Anadol Multibox ist.

I also had "No usb_update.bin file found on the USB storage device!!" problem.
Used to install every single image with that same usb until now, never had any issue.
Isn't it possible to install this new image via "Flash online" with settings backed up?

No, because there is no flashing over the Recovery Loader but with ofgwrite. Format the stick, unzip the Recovery_USB.zip and you will have all files. Just download the right file!

Ok, here's how I finally managed to update:

First I unzipped the image dated 19.04 to my usual USB stick that I used to install many many images for years, with the exception of main zip file also being included, as instructed in first message, although didn't quite get what's the point in doing this.

The new recovery screen appeared:

I thought this was going well and choose "Flash Recovery Image", but ended up with "No usb_update.bin file found" like this:

Tried with rear usb port too, but it was the same.
Then I downloaded "MiniTool Partition Wizard" suggested in one of the messages that I can't find now, beware though as it tries to install other apps too if proceeded with default settings.
After having formatted my old usb stick, this time the old recovery screen came up!

This looked a bit suspicious of course, but it worked and the new image has been installed in the "old way".

I could also restore my settings stored on sd card, after having mounted it as hdd, which didn't happen automatically unlike old images.

So far, so good - in the new multiboot system everything works as explained.
This has been a big development for SF8008, many thanks to everyone involved.

Habe heute auch das Multiboot auf der Box neu installiert.
Hat alles super geklappt nach Captain seiner Anleitung.

Danke für das neue Multiboot, ist ja nun gleich wie bei meinen MutantHD51.

Die Network Multiboot Upgradefunktion erreichbar über den Wartungsmodus ist eine Super Sache, es können alle ferfügbaren (new multiboot) Images online geladen und geflasht werden :good2:

I have upgraded the Multiboot installations, and installed about three Images successfully OpenAtv 6.4 on Boot 1, Openeight 6.7 on Boot 2 and Openhdf 6.5 and Boot 4. On the other hand when I tried try install OpenVix 5.3,on any boots 2, 3 or 4, via the "Network Multiboot upgrade" I get an error, saying "Download Failed: Check Your Wired Internet Connection". It should be noted that I did the upgrades for Openeight and Openhdf 6.5 using the same internet setup without issues. I have tried manual upgrading following steps by Captain, on post #2 Here , but the update fails to initiate. But following as outlined in the video tutorial posted by Gogypiko, the installation completes, but fails to bootup/stuck in boot. What am I missing as it regards installing OpenVIX 5.3?

EDIT: I found the reason why I couldn't update OpenVix 5.3 using "USB Multimage Upgrade" feature. I didn't include the "Kernel.bin" file I downloaded from Captin's post in my re-zipped "openvix-5.3.022.release-sf8008_mmc.zip" Image that I modified. Everything works great now! Thanks!!!

On the other hand, the "Network Multiboot upgrade" feature for OpenVIX still doesn't work.

Wenn man das OpenNFR 6.4 (new multiboot) per Network Multiboot Upgradefunktion ladet und flasht funktioniert nicht (Image ist vom 20.2.2020!!!)

Ist bekannt und wurde schon thematisiert, denn die Anbieter haben die Images einfach mit "new Multiboot" gebrandet, sind es aber nicht.

Erschlagt mich bitte nicht gleich.

Hab ja alles eingerichtet auf meiner 8008.
Aber eines möchte ich schon gerne wissen:
Gibt es irgendeinen Vorteil, das ich nun mit Multiboot zwischen bis zu 4 Images wählen kann?
