LCN scanner
LCN scanner

Hello Sito81,
I hope you can understand my reply in English.
Can you please show me the settings you used in the LCN Scanner screen? Also, can you please make sure that logs are enabled and then restart the receiver and perform an LCN Scanner scan and post the log output so we can analyse the issue.
Could you also please send in copies of the "lamedb" and "lcndb" files from the /etc/enigma2 directory.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: LCN scanner
I recovered what you asked me, I also read the log file but there doesn't seem to be any errors.
The problem I'm having is that when I press search from lcnscanner the operation only lasts a few seconds while in the old interface I pressed reconstruction and a very elaborate operation began that didn't always end well, sometimes it blocked without success but when it worked and was completed I got a perfect order of the digital terrestrial channels.
I don't understand if I'm doing something wrong, let's say that the old plugin with the word "reconstruct" was more intuitive because you understood that it was ordering the channels while in the new one it says "search" but I've already done the channel scan, it doesn't have to do any research, it just has to order the channels.

Re: LCN scanner
Hi Sito8,
The LCNScanner has been completely rewritten. It doesn't take a long time because it doesn't need a long time to do its job. In fact, the time you see the message on the screen is actually longer then the task needs to do its job. We extended the time for the pop up because we felt that having the pop up flash on and off the screen too fast would create concern from users that it didn't work.
Can you please explain in more detail, with some examples, what issues you are seeing with the new LCNScanner. Is it allocating incorrect LCNs? Is it missing services? Is it giving services the wrong LCN? I am not understanding the issue you would like me to fix.
By the way, you keep mentioning "Search". In the LCNScanner code the YELLOW button is defined as "Scan" in English. Is "Search" a valid Italian translation for "Scan"? I think "Scan" should be translated to "Scansione". "Search" should translate to "Ricerca". The YELLOW button should be labeled "Scansione".
I look forward to a report of any specific issues so that I can work to address them for you.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: LCN scanner
The problem I'm having is that after pressing the yellow button and saving, theoretically the plugin should have done its job, but instead there is no change in the order of the channels, they are not ordered by LCN, absolutely nothing has changed from before using the plugin to after using the plugin. For this reason I was asking if I was doing something wrong or if there was some problem with the plugin.

Hi Sito81,
What is the order of the entries you get and what is the order you are expecting?

Re: LCN scanner
I would like to order them according to the Italian LCN, with this order https://www.dtti.it/lcn/ .
Because currently the first available channel is not at number 1 but at number 38 and in any case they are not ordered according to LCN but are placed, at least I think, in the order in which it finds them by scanning.

Hi Sito81,
While I look at the information you have provided me, may I ask what you have in the settings "MENU > Setup > Usage & GUI > Channel Selection Settings" screen for the item "Numbering mode"? For the new LCN code to be effective you must select "LCN numbering".
If you do not have this setting active, can you please update your settings and tell me if the service LCNs are different / better. Please update this thread to let me know.
Regards,
Ian.

I have spent quite some time looking at the files you gave me and they don't seem to be a matched valid set. Could you please follow the following steps:
- Use "MENU > Setup > Software Management > Software Update" and complete a firmware update if any updates are available.
- Use "MENU > Information > About openATV" and post the complete value for "Enigma2 revision".
- Use "MENU > Setup > Usage & GUI > Channel Selection Settings" and set "Numbering Mode" to "LCN numbering".
- Use "MENU > Setup > Tuners, Scanning & Reception > LCN Scanner" and set "LCN Rules" to "Italy" then press GREEN to save the settings.
- Use "MENU > Setup > System > Logs Settings" and set "Enable debug log *" to "Enabled" and set "Include DVB scan data" to "Yes".
- Save the settings and allow the receiver to reboot.
- Use "MENU > Setup > Tuners, Scanning & Reception > Automatic Scan" and perform a scan.
- When the scan completes please restart the GUI and then send me the following files:
- /etc/enigma2/lamedb
- /etc/enigma2/lcndb
- /home/root/logs/<date>-<time>-enigma2-debug.log (Where the date and time are for the *previous* run where you ran the scan and not the currently active log file!)
- Post those files here for analysis.

Ian.
Re: LCN scanner
Thanks guys, I followed your instructions and I managed to make progress, I set the "Numbering Mode" to "LCN numbering" and I set "LCN Rules" to "Italy" and I have the channels sorted.
But now I have two problems, the first is that it does not order the first channels correctly, that is, instead of putting the first three Rai channels and after the two Mediaset channels it puts the Slovenian channels, the second is that I would like it to display the list of channels from the "Terrestrial TV LCN" bouquet instead of "Last scanned" so when I press the arrows of the "CH page" button on the remote control it changes the channels following the list created with LCN Scanner.
Do you think that to quickly solve the problem of the first wrong channels, can I copy the list of channels that I have on openATV 7.2 instead of the ones it found for me now? It's not a solution that excites me but if you say it's okay I'll do it, even if I don't know exactly which files I have to copy.
Sorry if I'm boring you with this but my parents are of a certain age and are used to having the channels ordered in a certain way and if I change everything for them then they don't feel comfortable anymore.

Re: LCN scanner
Hi Sito81,
To make any of the bouquets the "current" bouquet remember to select the bouquet and then select a service within that bouquet as the current service. That should make your newly selected bouquet as the active/current bouquet.
I am not sure what you are reporting with regard to the services being out of order:
If you just want to change the order of services for the convenience of your parents then just use the bouquet edit modes to change the order to your preference.
Please let me know if there is anything more you need from me.
Regards,
Ian.

Re: LCN scanner
Today my brother-in-law came to my house and patiently started solving my problem and after several attempts we solved everything.
We solved the problem of the Slovenian channels using DogSetting by deleting them and putting the correct channels in the first positions (LCNScanner makes a mistake in putting the Slovenian channels in the first 5 positions which it probably gets because I live in the north-east of Italy so yes the list it creates is not the same as the one I linked).
Creating the bouquet with DogSetting then going ahead with the channels it eliminated some empty channels so the numbers no longer match but it doesn't matter they are channels that my parents don't watch.
The default bouquet was an option that I had to change, at least from what I remember and then it worked.
So it wasn't easy, but with a lot of patience and the help of my brother-in-law we managed to fix things.
I understand that this decoder was created for much more advanced things, but I have to say that it is not at all intuitive if I have to use it in a simple way for digital terrestrial.
Thanks to all of you for the patience and time you dedicated to me.

Hi Sito81,
I am glad you found a solution that works for you.
I am interested that you found the process difficult and did not get the results you expected. What would have made the process easier for you?
I am also concerned that you report that the bouquet created by the scanner was not correct. Was the bouquet actually incorrect or just not the way you wanted it? If it was incorrect the please send me the files I requested together with a list of corrections explaining how the file I generated should have been created. I will be happy to look at your report and implement corrections for scanning in Italy. (So far you are the only user to provide any feedback from Italy. )

Ian.
