SF4008 freeze on rewind

Hello,
our family have 2 of these units for years.
If we play something from the record list and try to rewind, the picture freezes in few seconds.
The unit needs to be restarted. Makes parents unhappy.
Forwarding is OK.

Over the years we tried firmware updates, actually one unit is on 7.2 but it still happens.
I found this issue mentioned only in here:

Is this some known issue or is there a solution for it?

So use use the number keys 1/4/7 to jump back, or press key RIGHT-long beside OK to bring up a seekbar. Then release RIGHT, and tap LEFT several times or LEFT-long to move the mark to the desired position. Start playback at that position with OK.
Visual FF/FR is NOT supportet by all boxes / drivers. This box might not get any driver updates at all, as the last timeperiod shows.

Even if that works, I will not be able to train my parents to do this.
But they are able to enter menu and reboot the box.

Considering you know how to "workaround it" means you encountered it, is this problem present on all SF4008?

Anyone knows if this can be ever fixed?
In case I will need to replace the device one day, how can I know this bug will not be happening on some other box?

So to be clearer: train your parents to use 1/4/7 and 3/6/9. That's much more reliable.
