How change the DNS

Hello everyone.

I would like to know how we can change the DNS ?

I specify that my VU+ is configured as a fixed IP with an address 192.168.1.49.
In the resolv.conf file, I only have the line "nameserver 192.168.1.1" which is the gateway used so the address of my internet box.

Do not frickl around in files - just use the network menu.
You might need to use an actual oATV7.5.1 or oATV7.6.
You will find it.
If an user hast to ask for such things, it shows less experience in that things.
So such network settings without the expertise of an user is not supportet by me.

Yes, exactly as Papi2000 says, if you want to use your own, fixed DNS, you can set it in the GUI MENU in OpenATV. You don't need to mess around in Linux files. Because in Linux you would first have to find out what is used and what is affected by which module, library, configuration. It's not always the same setting in every Linux.

For ATV 7.5.1:

MENU > Settings > Network > Device settings / NIC / Network Interface Card settings (it depends on the localization translation what exactly you will see there) > select your connection and then change the configuration (you need change the DNS source to "fixed DNS" ... and change the IP address of DNS)

I would suggest, that you use at least oATV7.5.1 or newer, for there where lots of changes regarding network and handling of DNS. If you encounter problems with your oATV7.4, you know, what to do.

Yes, I would like to, but with version 7.5.1, I have network loss problems and the only solution I found is to go back to 7.4.

I will try again to flash the latest version in the day, if I have time.
