Power LED no longer blinking when recording

Hi Guys,

OpenATV 7.5.1 with latest software updates, and also 7.6 alpha.
Octagon SF8008.

It might be a coincidence but I did have my SF8008 power LED blinking whilst recording, I have noticed very recently that it's not happening now, I then ran updates on 7.6 alpha and it stopped on that too. Unfortunately I cannot find any setting to control if the LED blinks of not during recording?

I do not know about SF8008 power LED blinking whilst recording, but on a gigablue that does actually have led
you can go to menu > setup > Usage & GUI > LED

Regarding the SF8008 this definitely has the ability to blink, it was working for a very long time, just don't know where the setting is, menu > setup > Usage & GUI > doesn't show LED.

It should be here:
MENU > Settings > Usage & GUI > Display settings (Front display panel settings)

But I don't know if this is a setting error. It should be blinking by default according to me.

A similar problem was discussed in an old discussion here:

Someone there pointed out a possible problem in the algorithm of the "VdfSymbols.py" file:

@statalite It might help to start debug mode in your OpenATV + reboot set-top box. Then bring up the error from the Power LED that you describe. Log in to the set-top box via FTP and post the latest debug log file from the "/home/root/logs" directory here.

This is the menu you describe but I can't see an applicable option.


I enabled logging with the default settings, Open ATV 7.5.1, The GUI restarted, I then rebooted, made a scheduled recording of a short program "French Connections" but the problem persists the power LED no longer flashes, just says solid blue.

Hi. What options do you have under the REC symbol ? Isn't there, for example, "Time + blinking power LED" or something similar (I don't know, just guessing) ?

I have used this option previously but it only changes the white LEDs on the left hand side of the receiver front panel and does nothing to the blue indicator light.
