I have a Dreambox 900 with openatv 7.4 and I have a strange bug: I update the image online, check at the end and I have zero packages to update. After 2 or 3 days, if I check, I have the previously updated packages available for updating again.
This has been happening for some time now...
Any solution?

Re: Updates already made appear again
After few days there is a new image for your box. Already installed plugins get new timestamps, and will be updated as new, even if the content did not change. That's normal.

Thanks for your answer.
I use openatv for a long time and this never happened before.
Any change on the way updates work?

Re: Updates already made appear again
Hi.
You were probably using the previously outdated and discontinued OpenATV version. When OpenATV is old, for example OpenATV 7.3, there are no new updates for it and the project is terminated.
The new OpenATV 7.4 is in use for now and is also constantly being worked on. It is current released version. It's always like that. So if you were looking for an update for the outdated 7.3, you didn't find anything new. However, if you are looking for updates for the latest (current) OpenATV, which is version 7.4 these days, you will find new updates every 2-3 days.
However, you don't have to update daily. Once a week is enough.
A longer pause is not recommended, because some already released updated packages may be missing then, which may be missing from OpenATV after a longer period of time (1 month or more). Then there is a risk that such an incomplete update (after a long time) will disrupt the proper functioning of OpenATV. It may or may not. Therefore, it is not recommended to update after a long time. Either you update regularly (for example, once a week) ..... or if there is a longer pause, you'd better not update.

Re: Updates already made appear again
We have 4 update channels.
If you want fewer updates, stay on 7.4 Stable
7.4 is the stable branch, where only technically tested updates are delivered.
7.5 is currently RC1, so it's close to completion.
7.4 Devel: This is the 7.4 branch, where updates are often released more than once daily.
7.4 Preview: By invitation, for special problems where we work with users to find a solution for a local issue.
