Hi.

I tried downloading these packages on my PC and they all work. So the error will be somewhere in your set top box. For example, there is a lack of free disk space or you have problematic internet connection ?

I personally no longer perform online flashing, including the backup of selected data and packages. I perform the backup separately, with my own shell script, in which, if necessary, it is enough to edit all directories and files for the backup at the beginning. Then, after a new flash, I just restore everything from the backup (installable packages from the feed are also installed - with the help of my backup shell script).

Yes, but this is the fault of the OpenATV firmware itself, that they have not resolved this. It's not user fault.

Moreover, if the user is to know the linux shell well and has experience at a higher level, then he does not have to use online flashing, but manual flashing + with his own manually created backup. However, online flashing is supposed to make it easier for users who are not experienced in linux set-top boxes. So a normal user should not be interested in any wget with error code 5 (SSL error). For example, instead of wget, OpenATV team could use curl or insert the argument --no-check-certificate into wget command-line. There is no point in using SSL encryption for Enigma2 updates. It is not necessary. This is not a private and secret communication.

Thanks for your eairlier reply but I have no problem with my internet connection or space on device , yes you may use your custom script I have looked at it a while back.

but for me as I mentioned I have never had any problems using online flash with restore settings with IPK files on images/ ipk folder and i even use myrestore.sh and this is,

I would say normal method a lot of members use, as in tutorial on here, so now I have just copied all my needed ipk's to images/ ipk folder and the install because of errors with feed , even the skins i use that are on feeds don't install but if once flashonline with restore setting id done i can do restore setting and my skins download from feed.

no problem if using metrix hd but some prefer other skins. openatv7.4 forget that all recent changes end up in a boot loop but there was never any problems before may and even then you cannot load an older backup image and try to update plugins magic number problems probably due to new python changes.

Some changes may be for the better but in whos opinion I even tried openvix the other week it can restore system and plugins but no myrestore for any edits or files you may need to copy :(

The solution is to stop customizing the alternatively installed SKIN. Only proven plugins from the feed should be used. All settings in regular plugins are stored either in its own folder or in "/etc/enigma2/settings" or other files that you can find in the "/etc/enigma2/" folder. If some configurations are also found elsewhere, it is not a standard plugin. Anyway, even that can be backed up if you know where they are and add them to the shell-script for backup. I use this (adjustment is necessary - according to your own needs):

e2scripts/backrest at master . s3n0/e2scripts . GitHub

Also a note on OpenATV - MetrixHD SKIN:

After restoring the backup with my shell script, you have to go to the MyMetrixLite plugin in OpenATV, which controls the setting of the MetrixHD SKIN in the OpenATV image... and then you have to make one change (anywhere in the MyMetrixLite plugin)... and apply that change. Thus, OpenATV will start applying SKIN changes from the user settings (injecting into the XML code), all of which it finds in the "/etc/enigma2/settings" configuration file.
