Online updates
Are updates still being offered for ATV 7.3 with the Dev level feed added tricking the image into saying its 7.4 ?
I've not had an update offered since the 6th of April. Everything was fine until the feeds went down for everyone about 10 days ago, and once they returned nothing except plugin updates have been available to me.

Hi.
I recommend waiting for the new release of OpenATV. There is currently version 7.3. They are working on version 7.4 and I don't know when this 7.4 version will be released, but I think it will be soon.
If you can wait, it will easily install the 7.3 version.
However, do not forget to back up the data from the previous OpenATV version. Mainly the contents of the "/etc/enigma2" folder and then the softcam settings (if you use one).
Plugins can usually always be found on the internet or, even better, downloaded from the OpenATV feed to maintain compatibility.

It doesnt look like an image problem it looks like updates have been paused at the update server ?
root@vusolo4k:~# opkg upgrade
Not upgrading package busybox-syslog which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-udhcpc which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-telnetd which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-inetd which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-mdev which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package enigma2-plugin-settings-defaultsat which is marked hold (f

Can anyone explain whats going on ?
As I said everything was fine until the update server went down for several days for everyone and it was only when it returned that this issue started.

Hi.
Isn't it defined rather according to the type of your set-top box ?
For example, on Vu+Solo SE V2 (mipsel), I also have no updates over a period of several weeks, in the case of ATV 7.3.
However, in the case of Vu+Zero 4K (arm), there are still new updates.

Thanks for answering again s3n0
Ok thats good to know that you too have had no new updates for several weeks on your MIPS box. ( my last update was the 6th of April )
However my box is ARM ( VU+ Solo 4K ) which you say you are getting updates for ARM boxes.
Its bizarre, as I said everything was fine till the update server went down and now its returned I'm offered nothing. I can see on the GIT that theres been many updates, I'm just no longer offered them.

I don't know what's going on at all, but you can try running opkg with the debug/verbose output:
There you will see more info. You can also try to reflash the latest image, which someone already wrote above.
Maybe you will discover something in the debug information. Hard to judge.
Code: Alles auswählen
init 4 # stop the enigma2
opkg upgrade -V2 # here you will see debug info
reboot

That's also a good point, but let's assume he's already done that before (via the GUI MENU). So the package database in the set-top box will probably be up to date.

Yes the problem is from the GUI, but I've also tried opkg update followed by opkg upgrade in telnet.
This is the result ( same as above )
root@vusolo4k:~# opkg upgrade
Not upgrading package busybox-syslog which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-udhcpc which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package busybox-telnetd which is marked hold (flags=0x2).

Not upgrading package busybox-mdev which is marked hold (flags=0x2).
Not upgrading package enigma2-plugin-settings-defaultsat which is marked hold (f
lags=0x2).
root@vusolo4k:~#
It seems its not even seeing any enigm2 python updates.
I could be very wrong but to me its not logical that its an image problem because as stated, everything was fine until the update server went down for several days and these issues only began once it returned again.

Again:
For getting help, there is also the output of "opkg update" needed, to see the feeds, that are asked for.
And what's the reason for your blocked packages in exact that combination?

You can see in your log errors
404 -> that means your source definitions are wrong, or more likely the DNS settings of the box, router and internet provider does not match.
Try to flash clean, and use the default settings of the image for the network (try with disabled IPv6).
If you need a specific IP for the box, set it in the settings of the router. And you use the devel sources -> allways good to flash new instead update update update..
And do NOT restore /etc/opkg completely. You have bad adresses HTTP and HTTPS. Only HTTPS afaik are valid. Also oATV7.3-devel is not longer valid.

BTW, the "opkg update" process can also be done manually. That is, only if it is possible to download lists of packages from the internet in the web browser (on your desktop PC).
You can download "Packages.gz" files gradually to disk and extract. Step by step... one by one. The contents of the "Packages" file should be a list of available packages. Extracted file "Packages", rename according to the name of the last folder from the URL address. For example, for the address "https://feeds2.mynonpublic.com/7.3/STATIC/static-cortexa15hf-neon-vfpv4/Packages.gz" ---- after extracting the file... rename this extracted file to the name: "static-cortexa15hf-neon-vfpv4". All the files downloaded in this way are then copied and rewritten in the set-top box, in the folder: "/var/lib/opkg/lists"
Then you just start the upgrade:
opkg upgrade
However, you have some problem with connecting to some update feeds. So it's quite likely that downloading specific packages won't work either (on the same feed server).

Are you saying there are now no further 7.3 dev level updates ? This might explain why I'm no longer being offered updates. If this is the case do you know what the current 7.3 update links are so I can just add them ?

Actually further investigation has shown the error 404 Not founds in the previous post were a red herring.
They were added by this site because i never added code at the beginning and end of the telnet log.
In the telnet window itself there are no such errors and when I add code at the beginning and end when pasting onto this site the result is as shown bellow.
