DVB-S2X HotBIrd 13e - SETTINGS
Hi
As far you know there is a DVB S2X test on the HotBird. The problem is the setting provided by the Eutelsat are unable to use them on OpenATV. I've tested OpenATV 71 and 7.2 on Octagon SF4008 with S2X head support and i cant set FEC 32/45 for 16APSK up. That option doesn't exist. Is any chance to add full suport to the OpenATV software for s2x feauture?

Hotbird 13B/13C/13E at 13.0°E - LyngSat
Hot Bird 13B / Hot Bird 13C / Hot Bird 13E (13degE) - Alle Ubertragungen - Frequenzen - KingOfSat
Then I could check this out

You won't receive anything because you are not able to set proper settings such as FEC for a specific modulation -16APSK in this case. That transmission is working 100% for DVB sat cards, digital sat finders, and some cheap sat receivers such as GT Media based on Android with dvb s2x head. The question is why they can but we not. see the screenshot attached

Not only FEC, but for dvbs2x you cant select anything besides modulation 16APSKA or 32APSK. More options need to be available to select from. The best example is roll-off. We can select min 0.20 but that broadcast above using roll-off: 0.05. We can't select that as well. That extremely low value is also not available.

It is not because of the lack of selection options.
See my previous post where i attached a screenshot from yesterday. That proves that the transporter works 100%. The screenshot has been taken on the GTMedia device. other prove eutelsat-promo-tv-crazyscan-transedit — ImgBB DVB Sat Card screenshot. This is not OpenATV issue but we are unable to receive this signal on zgemma, octagon even Vu receivers with their own software and other enigma2 boxes. I repeat my question... why cheap devices such as Gtmedia or even a TV such as LG is able to receive that kind of signal without any issues but more expensive and advanced receivers don't???? Who knows the answer?
one more question..
What about roll-off? That broadcast use 0.05 we cant set it lower than 0.20 maybe that's the problem?
My thoughts:
That's not a stupid question if you consider the situation when for example in the near future television broadcaster will decide to switch to DVB s2x standard with a weird setting, normal users will be not able to receive the signal and be forced to buy new hardware. Our actual hardware will be useless even if we've got s2x support.
You mentioned about another DVB s2x transponder probably on Astra 19e a few years ago. That transponder had default settings such as fez 1/2, sr rate 25500(find on youtube) that's why there was no problem with it until now when Eutelsat decided to use more than default settings. That's situations show DVB S2X on Enigma 2 receivers IS NOT FULLY SUPPORTED.
No as said nowadays tuners are autodetecting the signal, they don't need modulation, FEC, inversion, roll-off etc.
They do find transponders even if you just tell them frequency and polarization and a symbolrate (even this isn't mandatory).
And no I'm not talking about some tests years ago, there are transponders regularly for feeding using DVB-S2X even with uncommon FEC values, which are found on blindscan.
And there are no standard FECs as said nowadays demodulators from Broadcom or Silabs don't need these parameters. They are always blindscanning while tuning.
I don't know what's different on this transponder and I had no time to check it now. The only thing I can tell it's not even seen on blindscan.
But it's definitely no issue related to Enigma2.

It's a hardware problem that more tuners Short Frame doesn't support
I don't know if anyone can solve this problem because it digs deep into the drivers
In addition, new tuners mostly work in the mode AUTO and it doesn't matter what FEC and MODULATION is entered
M88RS6060 no problem
Si2166 It even has problem with long frame on DVB-S2X/ACM-VCM (AVL6261 works much better with this signal)
