Wichtige Ankündigung: Upgrade unseres openATV Forums!

Liebe Mitglieder,

wir freuen uns, euch ein bedeutendes Update für unser openATV Forum anzukündigen! Nach über 11 Jahren treuer Nutzung der aktuellen Forensoftware (vBulletin 4.x) machen wir einen großen Schritt nach vorne und wechseln auf die neueste Version von phpBB 3.3.12. Dieses Upgrade bringt viele Verbesserungen mit sich und wird unser Forum moderner und benutzerfreundlicher gestalten.

Was bedeutet das für euch?

Datenübernahme: Alle eure persönlichen Nachrichten (PM), Posts, Threads, Foren, Subforen, Avatare, User-Accounts einschließlich Passwörter, "Thanks"-Ränge, Titel, Post-Counter und Anhänge werden vollständig übernommen.
Links in Posts: Alle Links in euren Beiträgen werden automatisch auf die neue Struktur umgestellt.
Download-Portal: Unser bisheriges Download-Portal wird auf eine neue ULC-Download-Seite migriert.
Bilder in Signaturen: Leider können wir die Bilder in den Signaturen nicht übernehmen, aber wir ermutigen euch, diese bei Bedarf neu hinzuzufügen.

Wann findet das Upgrade statt?

Das Upgrade wird am [23.8.2024] durchgeführt. Während dieser Zeit wird das Forum vorübergehend nicht verfügbar sein. Wir bemühen uns, den Ausfall so kurz wie möglich zu halten und werden euch rechtzeitig über den Fortschritt informieren.

Wir sind überzeugt, dass dieses Upgrade zu einer besseren Nutzererfahrung führen wird und freuen uns auf eure Rückmeldungen zur neuen Forensoftware. Bei Fragen oder Problemen stehen wir euch selbstverständlich zur Verfügung.

Important Announcement: Upgrade of Our openATV Forum!

Dear Members,

We are excited to announce a major update for our openATV Forum! After over 11 years of using our current forum software (vBulletin 4.x), we are taking a big step forward by transitioning to the latest version of phpBB 3.3.12. This upgrade will bring many improvements, making our forum more modern and user-friendly.

What does this mean for you?

Data Migration: All your personal messages (PMs), posts, threads, forums, subforums, avatars, user accounts including passwords, "Thanks" ranks, titles, post counters, and attachments will be fully transferred.
Links in Posts: All links in your posts will be automatically updated to the new structure.
Download Portal: Our current download portal will be migrated to a new ULC download page.
Signature Images: Unfortunately, we cannot transfer images in signatures, but we encourage you to re-add these as needed.

When will the upgrade take place?

The upgrade will be carried out on [2024.08.23]. During this time, the forum will be temporarily unavailable. We will do our best to minimize the downtime and will keep you informed about the progress.

We are confident that this upgrade will lead to a better user experience and look forward to your feedback on the new forum software. If you have any questions or issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

FINALLY !

I'm sick of this ancient discussion forum. The PHP BB forum has been around for a long time... for non-commercial use... and its bugs are constantly being fixed. PHP BB, depending on the settings and modules, is a really beautiful and very clear forum. I hope you leave a lot of options, both for design modification and for users . PHP-BB allows the user to set many forum design options even in the basic installation of PHP BB.

Sometimes I even had my own PHP BB forum about 10 years ago (it was possible to set really everything there).

Oh yeah. All developers will stop creating bugfixes, and help installing the new forum. So no new images the next two months? 90% of the users will jump from bridges or hang up in trees.
And set your preferences as you like. If it leads to unreadable texts because of malformated colors, customization is wrong. And what helps the brilliant surface, if users still will not supply sufficient informations for support?

What are you talking about ? PHPbb forum is primitive and easy to install. There is an installation wizard and you don't need to know anything about HTML/PHP/JAVA programming. You simply install and set up the entire PHPbb discussion forum. It's really very simple.

I installed it years ago and only privately. You can set everything directly there, also regarding the safety of access by users and moderators.

It's a much clearer and friendlier environment - it applies to both users and the forum administrator(s). You can really set everything there.

You don't have to program anything. You can, but you don't have to. And above all, PHPbb has very fast code.

As an amateur in managing a discussion forum, I was able to set up and run this PHPbb (10 years ago) within 2 days. I note again that I did it all by myself as an IT geek with common server experience. It's really very versatile. If I remember correctly, the installation took place in such a way that I uploaded the PHPbb installation form to my server and then started the web interface for installation and configuration and the initial launch of the forum. I unclicked everything. Subsequently, additionally, I changed some things, such as the possibility to add contributions to the discussion without registering on the forum, with certain limitations.

The OpenATV developer team will continue to solve BUGs via the Github interface.

And setting up a new forum for a certain purpose is as easy, as migrating a running forum into the new? Just a few clicks for a few scripts, and go . . .

Hi.

I don't know how it is with migration from other discussion forums, but something like that also exists there. But I don't know for which all platforms. Anyway, data transformation can be done. I think so.

I'm more worried about things like storing files... because on PHPbb this works on a different principle. All files are shared together and there is no owner for all files, as it is now in the OpenATV discussion forum.
