Box 1:VU+ Duo 2TM-TWIN Random Reboots
Hi everyone,
For quite a while now I have been encountering random reboots with on my TM-TWIN, this was first observed using an image from Vix, I cannot say exactly which image I first encountered the problem with though.
I have been updating to the latest Vix images as and when they were released to see if my problem was remedied, however, so far this has been unsuccessful, I have an open thread on their website which I have received a lot of good help/advice, however, I have not been able to remedy the problem - should anyone want to view the history please check here:
[TM-TWIN-OE] TM-TWIN Random Reboots
What I can say at the moment is that when using the most up-to-date image from 4D (4th Dimension) my TM-TWIN is very stable and has not produced the same symptoms to that of Vix, as I understand it though the 4D image uses an older kernel and driver set.
After stumbling across OpenATV I thought I'd give these images a try too to see what it was like and also to see if I had any problems running it, first impressions with OpenATV is that I really like the default setup/skin, very clean and crisp looking, and it is also very responsive, however, my TM-TWIN still suffers from random reboots using this too.
I will enable debug logging when I can and provide debug/crash logs, in the meantime I have attached the debug logs from when using Vix to see if anyone can assist.
Thanks in advance!

in the logs i cant see the issue, i think you must make a log with serial, looks for me kernel or driver are crash and box restart and not write the issue in the e2 log
next update is coming asap, then you have time wait, or better create a serial log we can send the log to the drivers engineers
openATV we are open Source

You'll need a RS232 Nullmodemcable and propably an RS232 2 USB Adapter. Then you can log using putty

ThemenstarterBox 1:VU+ Duo 2Thanks Thomas4711!
I will purchase an adapter today, I have putty already and I'm familiar with connecting via network connection and then viewing log files.
How do I then:
1. Make a connection via rs232
2. Create and save a log file whilst connected
Cheers!

ThemenstarterBox 1:VU+ Duo 2Thanks everyone,
I have the RS232 adapter and will hopefully get some logs when I get home.
One last question though hopefully, after I have successfully made a serial connection to the device using putty and setup the session logging are we simply expecting to not enter any further commands and when the box reboots to autosave the output/crash to the log?
Cheers!

When you have your Box connected just start the log and power on the Box. Than produce the problem and post the complete log

ThemenstarterBox 1:VU+ Duo 2Evening everyone!
The box rebooted 3 times yesterday evening when I was out (I know this as I have duplicate recording entries from timers), however, I didn't have logging enabled whilst out.
I have had another reboot a short while ago, please find attached log file (I think that the important stuff starts from around line 356).
Thanks in advance!
