Auto run script
I am stuck in that I can only place scripts in the /etc/enigma2 folder. (Assume this is true)
Is there any script of any name that I can auto run in this folder. I have tried enimga2_pre_start.sh but it did not run.
Is this possible??
Many thanks for your time....

Hi choakem,
You can put scripts anywhere and execute them, but the best place is: /usr/script
that way you can execute them manually with 'JobManager' (Menu, Info Panel, Plugins, JobManager), or autoexecute (timer) your scripts with 'CronManager' (Menu, Info Panel, Plugins, CronManager).
or you can execute your script(s) with a Hotkey.
if there is no folder named 'script' in: /usr , then create it youreself.
if you want to execute your scripts on booting, there are other ways. you can find examples in this script section.

ThemenstarterThanks I am aware of this but for this particular example let's assume I ONLY have access to the etc/enigma folder. Nothing else. No access to Cron or putty.
Is there any default script that the firmware will run in /etc/enigma 2?
I have tried using e2 tar extract but the utility removes leading / from the archive so I really only have access to the /etc/enigma2 folder only
Thanks

ThemenstarterYou misunderstand. I have full access to any one of these boxes but I have x amount of boxes out there that I would like to Update (for example the EPG import is broken).
The problems is that the only script I have running at moment is the Bouquet Script that simply downloads and extracts the bouquet files.
I can easily add a .sh script into this tar file but I know from the existing code that it will end up in /etc/enigma2 only. Hence the questions above.
I simply would like to avoid this manually.
I dont think it can be done - but I'm simply asking..........
