Well done, OpenATV Team! Red Eagle has been somewhat improved...

My Team doesn't have an image for "Red Eagle Twin LCD" any more, so I am testing OpenATV v. 6.4 on it, to see if the machine became any better (kernel, drivers, images for it)... I want to give it away but only if I won't have to be seriously embarrassed afterwards...

So, naturally, I loaded it to the max, to see how far it can run... Including OpenVPN (VPN Manager) and TuneIn Radio, YouTube by Taapat and Torrent Player by @mfaraj57...

I am pleasantly surprised in some ways, as the machine that used to crash like crazy, for just about anything, now performs kinda solidly at least partially...

Of course, there were still plenty of crashes (if you want the logs, please say so), however even though this old machine is slow and limited - it will:

    1) deal with Sat TV without a hitch!

    2) up to a point it will play IPTV channels from Ciefp's list fine (just a quick test but still...),

2a) provided no FF is attempted when watching VOD (playing films in the list and pressing >> or buttons 3, 6, 9 is a "no go"), as that kills audio and visual aspects of the whole thing... => Full restart is a must at this point!

    3) YouTube seems fine.

3b) Torrent player by MFaraj is working, at least partially = it will not play a film properly even after one DLs a third of the film, as it stops functioning properly (menus are accessible, downloading of the film continues but there is neither sound nor picture, in terms of either a film being watched or Sat TV channel being accessible). So, it will download a film and one can watch it - but after the DL is finished and one restarts one's STB fully....

EDIT: sadly, it stops doing just about anything (without freezing the machine completely), in other words, after a while there is no image/sound - one can go through menus and restart (only full restart gives A-V again!) but that's about it...

    4) Playback from NFS NAS is kinda cool (a quick test of a few music files/containers) but

4a) DVD files are stopped if one presses numbers (3, 6, 9), >> or >>| buttons (no FF, in other words).

    5) Playback from home network CIFS shared folders (PC) after a while (a few minutes) is not OK, either - as it freezes the machine the same way as above (menus are accessible)...

5a) for some strange reason all my network attached shared folders are properly mounted in E2 - but when I press the PVR button and go to "/media/net folder - it only sees 3 or 4, not all!

So: memory leak(s)? RCU needs to be mapped better. Some playback functions are not OK... Network mounting is iffy...

Good effort, though! Keep up the good work!

P.S. Pass the comments to the manufacturers to improve the kernel/drivers, please...
