In former times, most skins did not scale the picons in their placeholder windows. So a skin, that had a space 220x132 reseved for the picon, could not handle other sizes.
XPicons where defined as 220x132 (especially aspect 1,66)
ZZpicons are optimized for 400x170; aspect 2,35
ZZZpicons are optimzed for 400x240; aspect 1,66

oATV uses scalable display of all picons in all places (infobar, channel list, epg views, display-skins, etc.) for the size 220x132, but scalable. So XPicons are the ideal source, to have optimized, not oversized picons without dostortion (correct aspect is used). You can also use ZZZPicons, but without advantage, and more storagespace. If you use there ZZPicons, then the aspect is no longer correct - they look compressed in the horizontal size.
Also you don't need extra picons for epg views or the channel list. In former times you would have to use 100x50, 70x30 and so on for individual usage.
The only special usecase today stays at some displays if the boxes, where 400x170 or 400x240 for fullsize view in the box-display may have little advatages. Or special black&white sets mostly in 220x132 found) for some simpler box displays.

Lad dir mal unter Extensions die "Chocholousek" picons runter, und alles wird gut....
Das war ein super Tip, danke dafür: Gibt es sowas auch für Terrestrisch? Das Plugin macht ja nur SAT-Positionen.

    Gruß,
