    Ok I did as you said but unfortunately no channels found with manual scan and different fec. However with Dream Os based image where there is auto fec option in manual scan I can find channels!

    What were the results of the Signal finder test?
    What are the satellite, transponder frequency, and channels that you are trying to get using OpenATV image?
    What model of box are you using?

    Well, my box is Dreambox DM525. I tried for example to add frequency 11485 H 1500 on Eutelsat 21B with fec other than the correct one which is 3/4 and it doesn't lock frequency. However when i set the correct fec then guess what the frequency is locked. And this is a known fec provided by flysat. There are feeds from satelliweb site with unknown fec, so the only way is to edit satellites.xml?

    I am talking about free news or reportage feeds published on Feeds TV par satellite forums fréquences et images - Satelliweb but with FEC:NC as stated.

    @jojoz
    Correct as almost any tuner made by Dream supports Auto-FEC (there is only one exception) also for DVB-S2 in DreamOS this option is visible. And also correct that the driver denies any wrong value, even if the tuner itself is always doing autofec (as most current tuners do), to store only correct entries to lamedb.

    There are only a certain number of fec combinations. You should be able to try all of them using Signal finder until the correct fec is found. It seems you know the frequency, polarization, and symbol rate, so enter these in Signal finder, then change the fec until you get a lock.

    Maybe another option would be to transfer the lamedb or channel files from one image to another using enigma2 channel editor. But this would probably be a lot of work, and I guess these transponders can change the fec and other values as is common on some other satellites. You may also try blindscan if the receiver has that option.

    For the Dreambox auto detect, I have no idea why they would set the receiver to auto detect only on the auto fec setting. I have several different brands of fta receivers that will lock a signal when the correct frequency, polarization, and symbol rate is entered. These receivers will display the correct fec, or what the receiver thinks is the correct fec in a blindscan, but the fec is ignored in manual entry. Having the receiver set up like this results in less frustration for the operator or user. I just want to watch tv, and could care less whether the correct fec is displayed or not.

    Incorrect, there are more than just a few fec combinations and for DVB-S2X you need Auto-FEC as there are no values defined in Linux DVB-API. Just selecting some wrong value makes no sense.

    And about your reply to auto detect? The modern demodulators are ALWAYS using auto-fec, but DreamOS will deny accepting invalid values if you don't select Auto, as this invalid values will then be written to lamedb and this behaviour is absolutely correct, as said above there are tuners which cannot do auto-fec which rely on valid values in lamedb (which is maybe also the reason why OpenATV still has no Auto for DVB-S2 as some older demods don't support it, which would result in incompatible settings).

    I think there are about 13 fec combinations defined in linux dvb. So it is not much work to try each combination until you find one that works for a DVB-S or DVb-S2 transponder. DVB-S2X is a whole different ballgame, and the OpenATV image will crash when a DVB-S2X transponder is found during a blindscan because DVB-S2X is not defined.
    I have no idea what fec value would be displayed on any fta receiver that scans channels on a DVB-S2X transponder using fec auto or other fec setting because none of the S2X fec's are defined in the image. Would be interesting to see a debug log of a DVB-S2X scan that returns channels using OpenATV image on any receiver.

    As for fec auto detect, different images may produce different results, and different receivers may produce different results. I can set My Os mini on any fec setting and get a signal, providing the correct DVB-S or DVB-S2 is used. A scan using the wrong fec will result in the correct fec being displayed for the channel infobar in OpenATV image. So the OS Mini can be set to any fec and get a signal, which is what I like. This is demonstrated in the video link.

    It is nice to have the correct information displayed, but I really could care less what is displayed or shown in the infobar, providing the channel plays, and I have a good picture.

    Attached is the scansetup file that will add auto fec for DVB-S2 to the signal finder and to the manual scan in OpenAtv image. This mod is demonstrated in the video link.
