That will not work (only ext3 -> ext4).
Unmount the Stick, initalize it, or format it at you pc in FAT32, plug it into the box, and initialize/format in ext4. Mount FIX to /media/usb, reboot, and copy back the data.

OK. Now restoring the data to USB.

Now it is ext4 and no ntfs processes in ps -ef output.

Next step will be flashing OpenATV 5.1 and see if this time works.

    I will let you know.

Should I try to simply dettach usb in the back usb port? Any other thing to try?

    Best regards.

EDIT: Simply dettach usb in the back usp port did not work.

Ah, damn I didn't read your posts properly. Sorry. The problem is not a process which prevents remounting root. Your problem is that e2 needs a long time to shutdown. I guess it's related to the fact that your epg.dat is on your stick. Can you please do the following:
    init 4
Then count the seconds until enigma2 process is not any longer running (look into ps -ef). I guess it takes more than 30 seconds (that's how long my program wait).

It took about 50 seconds, so probably there is the reason. Any workaround for this?

Regards and thanks for the tip.

50 seconds is quite long. I have adapted my program. It now waits 60 seconds:
    https://github.com/oe-alliance/ofgwr...df2cd3602ea75d
I hope it's long enough. Update tomorrow and try again.

    Other workarounds:
    - Use faster stick
    - Don't store so much EPG data

Well, how big is your epg.dat?

    Hi:

Thanks for considering these longer times in your program.

My epg.dat size is 144 kb, probably too big? . I think this Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 USB - 64 Gb should not be too slow, but who knows.

Is it possible to update ofgwrite before tomorrow, i.e., via manual opkg update or whatever. In case it would not be possible today, should I do it manually tomorrow? Please let me know the better way to update it.

    Best regards.

    144kb?? That's small. You don't mean 144MB or 14,4 MB?

Please update image tomorrow. Then you should get new ofgwrite version. You can check it after update by typing "ofgwrite" in the console. It should show version 2.2.2

I can confirm is 144 kb. This is due to yesterday I switched of xmltvimporter daily update, in order to discard things that can produce error while flashing (turning off e2). After USB format to ext4, epg data was lost somehow, and now it only contains a few channels and days. Looking at previous backups, epg.dat size is usually between 25 and 50 Mb, depending on number of days and packages. So yesterday was a big file (as far as I understand) and today is a small one, but in both cases turning off e2 was slower than 30 seconds. Please consider that I have a big amount of picons on the USB, which are small size files, but about 20.000.

Regarding ofgwrite, I understand what I need to do is and online update of current 4.2 installed image (usually about 25-75 files), this way ofgwrite should be updated, and then flash OpenATV 5.1 last night update. Is that OK?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Regards.

Do you still use OpenATV 4.2? As I heard the daily builds are stopped at the moment. So you don't get updates. In this case it would be better you flash once 5.1 via USB stick. Or I can post new ofgwrite version here tomorrow evening.
