Thema: Kodi 19.1 crash beim abspielen

Beim anderen DVD-Rip gabs auch den Crash. Das Bild blieb stehen mit MPEG-Klötzchen. Ich konnte wieder mit Stop raus und Kodi über Power verlassen. Ich weiß wieder nicht, wann der Crash war, weil ich erst nach 1,5h nachsah. Daher weiß ich auch nicht, on och auch direkt nach dem Crah mit Stop rausgekommen wäre.

Gio60, lässt du denn währenddessen die Fernbedienung in Ruhe? Vielleicht tritts ja nur auf, wenn man Kodi einfach laufen lässt ohne jegliche Interaktion.

Bei mir ist ein USB-Stick als HDD gemountet mit 2 Gb Swap. Der Film wird vom NAS gestreamt über eine CIFS-Verbindung.

I have still the same problem, Kodi always freezes during playback. (SF8008+Oatv7.0)

I found that problem is with memory usage, after start playback Kodi increase memory usage and when free memory is about 50-60MB then Kodi and SF8008 stop responding, hard reset is necessary.
I tried to set "cache memory" for Kodi in the "advancedsettings.xml" file (HOW-TO:Modify the video cache - Official Kodi Wiki), but without effect.

So, I thing that problem is not cache memory but something others. After start playback, memory usage increase quickly for about +200MB (buffering) and then slowly more and more...as if Kodi could not free the used memory :-(

All with SF8008 and the same problem can check memory usage, simpy switch on logging - Settings/system/enable debug logging

I checked memory usage on V6.4 and there is still a lot of free memory, no increasing.

Go and use 2gb swap

Thanks for answer, i created swap file for increasing system memory with size of 512MB. But Kodi see still 1GB HW system memory only. I tried to play video for testing, problem was not solved. Free memory go down and Kodi stopped responding again.

Use a usb stick with z.b. 4gb and mount him,and use 2gb swap.

OK, i created 2GB swap file, start Kodi and play movie. Kodi crashed after 30 minutes again. With or without swap memory it is the same.

Your Box is still the unsuitable hardware for KODI!
Unfortunately, an E2 receiver is not the right choice for this, if you want to take full advantage of all of KODI's functions.

Yes, maybe thi is not best HW for kodi, but OATV6.4 use the same HW and Kodi have not problem with memory. So i think that it is SW problem.
I use my Octagon as satelit receiver mainly, the Kodi is addon only, but very good :-) addon.
