ThemenstarterSamsung 32A656 I believe . it is.
it used to work with an older openatv and I had recently an onld openVix 3.2 image that had hdmi-cec partialy working. so it doesn't seem a hardware problem.
more like it's broken on the latest images and nobody reported it because let's be frank, not many still have this obsolete boxes like I do...

The new Images built with the actual Tools are bigger, and not supporting all features of older chipsets any longer.
With the new built-tools we an not build parallel the old kernels, because that would fail.
And there might be severall more reasons, do get rid of Boxes with only one cpu-core and small flash.
The small flash might be the reason, the function is not included. There is also a hdmi-test plugin at the feed.
Your TV is an A-Series Samsung, that might have had some special needs to HDMI-CEC. HDMI-CEC is not an accepted standard by the makers of TVs. They all have implemented several own things, to avoid compatibility, and have users buy their additional hardware like dvd- or bluray-player.Grüßle
