Thema: Cannot install epgexport on openatv 7.2

Forget about your unsupported plugin errors, and keep on helping to solve your started problems here. For now, you are the only user for that plugin.

I have some news:

With openatv-7.2-vuuno4k-20230330_usb:

- in openatv 7.2 the plugin was installed and after a restart it was available in plugins menu
- also, I was able to setup the options, but with a small issue: after creating the EPG file in the designated folder, the plugin was stuck in "EPG downloading". The file was created (most probably ok). After an "ok" click on the remote, the plugin came back into the menu. I don't know about scheduling yet.

With openatv-7.1-vuuno4k-20230128_usb

- in openatv 7.1 I've succeeded to solve the CI+ problem (most probably it's ok also in 7.2 now)
- the EPG plugin can be installed but it doesn't work normal and it cannot be found in the plugins menu, I receive this screen after reboot:

- BUT I had a (big?) issue with this 7.2 nightbuild because it cannot fetch the list of updates (it does not deliver a "no updates" message but remains stuck in downloading the list)

I need a more detailed error report.

If there is an up-to-date (according to date and time) crashlog file in the "/home/root/logs" directory, this one should be enough.

But if the crashlog does not exist, then I need a debug log file.

You would have to activate the debugging function in OpenATV in the MENU. Then restart the set-top box. And then invoke BUG. Next, a record is created in the LOG file in the "/home/root/logs" directory. I will need this last file or at least a couple (50-100) of the last lines for a detailed BUG check.

Yes... the plugin does work, but I had some reservations about the original code and algorithm. For example, this plugin uses a process that is started via eTimer, but it then runs as a separate algorithm - in the background. However, this makes Enigma2 very busy for a few seconds - a busy "spinner wheel" is displayed, in the upper left (as an OSD icon). It's okay, but it can be annoying sometimes :).

Would like to change... modify... refactor it to better code... more modern... :).

There are many ways :). But there must be more free time and more desire to work on it :).

Maybe sometime later again :-D.

It still needs a few tests from people who know how the plugin should work correctly in the old version of Python2. And if everything works OK, then OpenATV can add this again (probably via the "bitbake" recipe?) to its feed - server with plugins. I'm not very proficient in BitBake recipes yet :).

Which version of OpenATV are you using ?

It is actually a file "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/Picon.pyc" which contains a "function" named as "getPiconName" for importing. Of course, it is available in OpenATV-7.2: enigma2/Picon.py at 7.2 . openatv/enigma2 . GitHub
