The developers of Enigma distributions try to remove modules / drivers / libraries where there is little assumption that someone will need them. This saves valuable space on older set-top boxes. Then they can insert other and more important plugins / modules / drivers / librraries / etc. . All new system libraries are growing and growing. Otherwise, there would be no more space in the internal 64MB-128MB flash drive. And not everyone owns a newer type of set-top box, with an internal flash drive capacity of 256MB or more.

Many people use a set-top box with a capacity of only 64MB, so what now ?! Do they throw the set-top box in the trash ? So that's the main reason why Enigma distributions, designed for older set-top boxes with a small internal flash drive, don't include everything.

In some cases it is more advantageous to use for example OpenPLi, but in some cases it is more advantageous to use OpenATV or of course there are other Enigma distributions. There is no perfect Enigma. Unfortunately.

It is also worth noting that this is Linux. It's not Windows or Mac OS that will do everything instead of you when you click one icon. This, of course, has its drawbacks. Although Windows does the work for the user, the user cannot control it, and the user has to come to terms with what the Windows system has done instead.

Since it is a Linux system, most similar problems, such as driver unavailability, are forced to solve by yourself. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of Linux systems is that you must at least be generally familiar with IT. Well, ideal if you were an IT expert.

Did this one I put in above work for you ? Or not ? I don't know exactly how drivers work because I'm not an expert on Linux systems. Unfortunately, I'm just a standard IT guy :). Currently, for a few years, I only focus on programming :). Of course, it depends on what kind of Linux you have in your set-top box, in OpenATV 6.4. Only OpenATV developers know that everything there is included for your Spark device.

Look in your grab box for an old adapter suiting the old kernel of the SH4-boxes.
    https://www.opena.tv/english-section...tml#post476711
Driver for new chipsets do not compile to those old kernels (v2.x or allready v3.x?).
Nothing works properly friend. That's why I hate dealing with Linux..so much incompatible packages, missing dependencies, outdated drivers, kernel panics and meaningless errors..I'll make one last attempt to get WiFi running before I finally give up and go back to the stock OS (SPARK) ..Can you please give me the link to download all of the drivers and kernel modules for the RTL8812au? I'll just try them one by one until one of them works..I tried to look for them on the official Openatv site (feeds2.mynonpublic.com) but it gives me a "forbidden" message..thanks for caring

No, i don't know any driver downloads for the SH4 boxes. I had several Sogno SH4 boxes, and dropped them for worst support. But as i told allready, the RTL8192CU i used at those boxes.

Please people if someone could hook me up with the download links of the drivers/kernel modules of any of the 3 mentioned chipsets (RTL8812au, atheros 9k, RT5370) from the official feed I'd be really thankful..I'll need to download them on a USB stick then install them manually because my receiver lacks an ethernet port..

I've already sent you a URL. But you didn't answer me. You ignore my messages. So that's where I ended up. Sorry. It's up to you.

You usually don't get anywhere with such designations. The chipset used is decisive. It sometimes even changes between different revisions under the same product name.
