Unable to access Webif
I'm using Zgemma H9S running OpenATV 6.4. Receiver is connected via WiFi. Recently I've upgraded my router and since then I am sometimes unable to access receiver from internal network (ssh, webif etc). If I ping the device I get (Destination host unreachable) then after some time, maybe 5 or maybe 20min it's suddenly working again. I'm hoping you can tell me what can cause this issue. I tried forwarding the port to outside network and it's always working. I'm assuming there is a problem in my internal network but I don't know where to look for a solution. Besides accessing the receiver I have no other issues

The problem can be really anywhere ... for example in your WiFi router directly (its configuration or incorrect function of network communication).
In case of a non-functional connection (ping, ftp, telnet, ssh, openwebif), please test whether the internet connection works in your set-top box, for example by running a firmware update or look at the OpenATV settings in the GUI-MENU - try restarting the network interface. If the network interface does not start up after a restart, there is really a problem in the connection between the WiFi-router and the set-top-box.
These issues may be also resolved, after some time, with new OpenATV updates.
Outages of the network interface in the set-top box can cause really anything. For example, on my set-top boxes I don't see any outages. However, in the status and LOG of my WiFi-router (Asus RT-AC66-B1) the DNS name and MAC address often fail, I don't know why ... I'm lost ... probably some firmware error in the router or incompatibility between Linux set-top boxes and my WiFi-router. Of course, the network interface directly in all my set-top boxes is always fully functional and without outages. Only my router is behaving strangely.
You can try to enable the debug-log via the GUI-MENU and then reboot the set-top box. Then, if some connection fails, you will find a debug-log file in the "/home/root/logs" folder. But I don't know if it will help and if something significant will be recorded there. These debug-logs relate only to the activities of the Enigma itself. Linux system is a little more complicated to diagnose. Perhaps a system log would help log from the files: "/var/log/messages" and "/var/log/dmesg".
Basically, the network interface in the set-top box is overwhelmed or dropped, in my opinion:
1. the Linux set-top box itself - problem with the driver for the NIC, damaged some network service / process, freezing of another process which depends on the functionality of the network interface, etc.
2. network connectivity, i.e. a problem somewhere in the route between the WiFi router and the set-top box - for example: incorrect configuration in the WiFi router, bad cabling, bad wireless connection interrupted by something else, weak WiFi radio signal, etc.Geändert von s3n0 (15.10.2020 um 19:47 Uhr)
