Disabling IPv6 in OpenATV?
How to completely disable IPv6 service in OpenATV? I'm using IP ver4 on my local network, but my router, acting as a DHCP server, still assigns an IPv6 address to my Zgemma receivers.
I can not turn it off in the router because it is a fiber optic router from Orange and there is no such option in the setup.
And due to the warranty, I cannot make any modifications to it. I can't even turn off DHCPv6 but I can DHCPv4. Strange but it is.
My OpenATV version is 6.4, receirest two Zgemma H9 combo.

You need an entry echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/all/disable_ipv6 in /etc/rc.local and everything is fine.

ThemenstarterBut as I understand it, commands from the rc.local file are executed after all other services are started. Including DHCPv6 client.
Hence, in the /etc/resolv.conf file, an entry will be added to the DNSv6 server at the beginning of the file.
And it happens even though I have a static IP configuration in both Zgemma. So this entry prevents local network name resolution for IPv4. Is there anything else to do / uninstall?

Why do you need "local network name resolution for IPv4", for your local network only the ARP protocol is needed?
My STB's also have static IP's and I've no problems with DNS resolution for IPV4.

ThemenstarterI need local network name resolution for IPv4 due to the fact that I have access to some devices both via the Internet and from the local network.
Of course, the IP addresses are different in both cases.
And I want, for example, in the iPad applications to use the same domain names both in the LAN and during the connection via the Internet.Geändert von mackowiakp (19.07.2020 um 12:12 Uhr)

If ifconfig shows an inet6 address, you can also try another configuration:
- undo the change in /etc/rc.local
- add the following lines at the end of /etc/sysctl.conf:
Code:net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6=1 net.ipv6.conf.lo.disable_ipv6=1
- run sysctl -p and restart box
- apply ifconfig as above
