New disk
I've just installed a new disk in my Technomate TM-NANO 2 Super and would like to know if there is any preferred directory structure to adopt. I'm hoping to store all my multimedia files on this disc and would be interested in what directories to create. On the old disk I had these dirs:-
backup_openatv_tmnano2super
fullbackup_tmnano2super
images
lost+found
mediaportal
movie
picon
timeshift

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOThese directories are created by Enigma itself. Depending on which plugins use these directories. The "movies" and "timeshift" folders are used to store videos directly by Enigma. The "timeshift" directory belongs to the Timeshift function if you enable it, and the "movies" directory logically serves to store videos if you record any in the Enigma timer.
Of course, you can change all directories in the Enigma GUI configuration according to your needs. For example, you can change the default directory (the home directory) in the built-in video player. By default, the same directory is used to store videos from the Enigma timer, i.e. directory "movies".

ThemenstarterAs I mentioned, I replaced the disk and initialised it, but there are no directories (apart from lost+found). I have made recordings but they are saved in the root directory of the disk.
Is there a function/command which creates the required directories? Not sure what exactly you are referring to by 'Enigma GUI configuration' - I don't see any option for creating directories.

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOYour external HDD may have been mounted in the "/media/hdd/movie" folder. Therefore, you will find all the stored recordings in the root folder of your external HDD. You can verify this, for example, via FTP or by using the "ls" command.
If you want your external HDD to replace the symbolic link "/hdd" in the system, the procedure may to be a little bit different. Sorry, I don't remember which method is used exactly for OpenATV firmware. You have to search on Google or in this discussion forum.
It's also a little more complicated to explain. With mounting an external HDD, "miracles" can be done in Linux.

ThemenstarterI always use the Linux command line, when I can, to interact with the system. Currently recordings are stored in the root directory of the hard disk, but I'll manually create the movie directory if necessary, just wondered if there was something that created all the required directories automatically. Also wondered if there would be any problem moving all the files in the root directory to the movie directory. I'd also like to keep all the recordings from the old disk, so I hope that I can mount the old disk via a USB enclosure and copy those files to the movies directory as well.

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOI do not know exactly how OpenATV selects the folder for storing videos for TV recording. I don't want to look for it. However, I know that it can also be set manually - in the OpenATV configuration (you can find it somewhere in the GUI MENU).
So first create a folder manually on your external HDD. Then find out where your external drive was mounted on the system. Finally, find the entire path and set this folder in the OpenATV configuration to store videos from TV recording.
