Question about wifi speed
I am using a Vu+ Uno 4k SE stb and a Vu+ 300mbps wifi adapter is connected to it.My pc is using a Tp-link 150mbps wifi adapter and both the stb and the pc connected to a wifi modem/router.Now I know that these speeds are theoretical maximum speeds. When I use Filezilla to connect to my stb's local ip using port 21 from pc, my average transfer speed is about 2.5 mib/21mbps.Is this a normal/expected speed or should it have been faster?

You send the date though the WLan to your router, and from the router back to your box. So datarate is about half of the single-used route. The maximum transferable rate also reduces by other networks in your neighbourhood, and the distances router to each of the involved partners. The longest distance gives the maximum datarate. One partner is near the router, and gets 144 or 150MBit/s (would give aprox. 12-14MB/s unscrambled). The other partner gets lower connection rate of 80MBit/s. When the datatransfer runs, there is overhead for scrambled transfer, which reduces the real datarate for the file itself.
I have one partner here via GBit-LAN, and the Notebook via WLan 150mBit/s scrambled connected. The datarate to or from the box is about 5-6MB/s.Grüßle
