General changes to look for in 6.3 for a Zgemma H7
As the title says. I reflashed to 6.3 recently from 6.2 but don't really notice any immediate changes.
Was restoring settings a good idea instead wiping the slate and starting all over?
What to look for? PIP finally? Firmware enhancements for tuners?
Audio problems fixed? What are the differences?

ThemenstarterThe issues are not so much. My understanding is that drivers were written when the original chipset from Broadcom were released.
I'm not sure as to how the receiver tunes in terrestrial channels. All in the tuner? Demodulates with the Broadcom chipset?
I have the MSB1237 ATSC Tuner and so far have not had it scan USA cable Clear QAM-256 channels. I believe I have a post here describing the problem. My TV's and Silicon Dust device do it fine. And the XML has been edited to include the frequencies.
After a few months of just getting used to and learning how the receiver operates I find no discrete Dolby Digital Digital will decode. It only works like Pro Logic. IE: Test files in media player can decode to each speaker independently. Not on satellite.
Mode 12? I see no references ever on how to get PIP working. Is there a detailed turtorial?
And a BDA driver for the receiver so I can view TV on my local network using Kodi, Mediaportal, and other streaming devices where the Silicon Dust HDHomerun does it very well. The webif and VLC works of course. But not all of my devices have access to webif.
I do know these receivers are for the European market but my USA reseller has made sure the terrestrial/cable tuner for the USA is included. This in turn makes the model a Zgemma H7.AC.
As I am very good with computers and electronics plus have a nice home theater system, getting the functions working would be nice. Finding just the ATCS tuner source code would be a nice way to start to see if I could make a working driver for over here.
In the USA I've had a few people in other forums ask me if I was able to scan the in-the-clear cable tv channels. Non can, including me.
And they ask if I have gotten PIP to work. Answer: No.
I tend to detail my answers so that things can be clear and keep back and forth replies to a minimum.
I just think these receiver manufacturers realize there is a USA market.
Thanks.
