    I have a problem loading the EPG from the file, what I copied from another box.

    Hello,

    I have a problem loading the EPG from the file, what I copied from another box.

    So far, loading EPG data has worked correctly. Updating EPG data in the set top box is scheduled by CRON. With the Bash script, I download the epg.dat file from another set top box and reboot the GUI (Enigma 2) to reload the EPG data. EPG loading does not work in the set top box around the beginning of the March. I use both the current version of OpenATV 6.1 on both boxes.

    I also tried in MENU -> Settings -> EPG -> Save / Load, loading the EPG data ('/etc/enigma2/epg.dat'), but nothing happens. EPG file is not loaded. I don't know why.

    Does anyone know where the problem might be ?

    Currently I do not have access to the box so I can work and possibly get DebugLOG.

    Thanks.

    I've found something new:

    EPG data is not loaded into the system from the copied file (epg.dat) only to the set-top-box which I use to watch IPTV.

    In the primary box, where I watch satellite TV, the EPG data works correctly (they are read correctly from the file even after restarting the GUI or even manually loading the OpenATV menu).

    It looks like EPG data is not assigned to IPTV channels (service reference codes in userbouquet files are written correctly).

    ////////////////////////////////// EDIT :

    I do not understand it, it works again - after restarting the box.
    I think it could have corrupted the 'epg.dat' file.

    Of course, Enigma is always stopped before uploading 'epg.dat' to the box ('init 4' command). Then I restart the Enigma ('init 3' command) and wait for up to 3 minutes for it to start. Then I switch the Enigma to Standby, because restarting the GUI (Enigma) causes the reception of the TV signal (DVB-IP) to be active, so I have to switch the Enigma to Standby again.

    Thanks.

    OMG, my problems with loading epg data are back again !

    I've checked the /etc/enigma2/epg.dat file a few times - it's okay. After some time, the epg data was disappear. No IPTV channels can see any epg data.

    And now... it's not possible to load epg data manually through MENU in OpenATV (from /etc/enigma2/epg.dat)... it does not even help to restart the GUI (Enigma)... restarting the box does not help (epg data can not be seen)...

    The DebugLOG file is empty (no errors about EPG data):
    Code:
    12:35:46.8612 [   ] dvb/epgcache.cpp:1382 load [eEPGCache] 80724 events read from /etc/enigma2/epg.dat
    Or maybe the problem is here ? :
    Code:
    12:26:51.9370 [ ] dvb/epgcache.cpp:474 timeUpdated [eEPGCache] time updated.. but cache file not set yet.. dont start epg!!
    Enigma2-debug-20180331_12-26-43.log

    Why you copie your epg dat? Make it with your image and update it.

    In my previous post, I wrote that this is a copy of EPG from my satellite-box (with OpenATV 6.1) to an IPTV-box (with OpenATV 6.1).

    Previously, loading EPGs was great. Unfortunately for about a month it does not work (on the IPTV set top box, of course).

    ///////////// EDIT :

    So, change again ...

    First of all, I forgot to mention that I use the EPG-Refresh every night in the satellite box (for regular epg feeds '/etc/enigma2/epg.dat').

    Secondly, today I see in IPTV set-top-box only some EPG data, about 5 channels. The epg.dat file is only 800kB big and was produced overnight with the EPG-Refresh plugin. In the satellite box is of course the same 800kB file epg.dat, but there I see epg data on all channels.

    Mystery. I will try to uninstall and not use EPG Refresh. Find out if there is a problem with EPG Refresh or OpenATV.

    Hello again.

    I have solved only one minor problem so far, when I did not see EPG data for all channels but only for some: In the satellite set top box I enabled support for MHW EPG and for Virgin EPG. When I again deactivated support for MHW and Virgin in a satellite box (and I generated a new EPG file), I can see EPG data again on all channels.

    Unfortunately, the occasional problem of reading EPG data from a file in an IPTV set top box is still not resolved. I test whether EPG-Refresh affects it (every day generates and uploads a new 'epg.dat' file). After a few days, the IPTV set top box simply can not read data from '/etc/enigma2/epg.dat' correctly. Even after deleting the file and reloading the new file, do not see any EPG data at all.

    I have the impression that, in addition to Virgin and MHW, it can drastically change the EPG file format as well as the EPG-Refresh plugin. Then the IPTV set top box without the EPG-Refresh installed has a problem.

    It looks like a problem with the EPG-Refresh plugin. Perhaps the EPG-Refresh plugin stores epg data incorrectly or in an inappropriate format - for me unknown reason. Perhaps this will be related to something else. Maybe there is a problem depending on lamedb files ? I really don't know :-/.
