Or does your EPG source not come from a satellite ?

I do not know how the EPG Search dialog box works in OpenWebif - WebGUI. According to your screenshot, this is an OpenWebif bug. Perhaps it would be better to contact OpenWebif developers.

However, OpenATV does not use the original version of OpenWebif, but its own version of OpenWebif (customized code for its own needs for OpenATV image). If you want, we can try to replace OpenWebif from ATV, with the original OpenWebif. It can be reinstalled, but I do not know if it will help.
Epg source in my case is mantained from xtream editor (in the website i can manually map the channels e.g. Canale 5 is labeled in their epg db as Canale5.it)

    All web based.

Yes definitely bugs (both for openwebif and the plugin epg search in the box).

Well, if you have a link for the original openwebif i can at least give It a try.

Today they have made changes for openwebif and i have downloaded the upgrade from the box, but guess what the situation has gone even worse (now the virtual remote buttons are wrong mapped)

I have a complete backup ready if something mess up.

The entire EPG database is loaded into Enigma. When you switch to one of your IPTV channels, a reference code is found in the EPG database, which is assigned to this IPTV channel, and this information from the EPG database is used. Also the picon is used according to this service reference code.

The service reference code in the example mentioned above for "Channel 5" is probably assigned to your DVB-T and not to DVB-S, as I was originally thinking ... because you also use the DVB-T tuner and not just DVB-S. Sorry, I did not realize it.

In my opinion, it's a chaos when you use multiple sources with EPG data.

Either way, it looks like a code error in OpenWebif, in conjunction with EPG data from multiple sources (DVB-S + DVB-T).

For me, the "EPG search" dialog box works perfectly. However, I only use DVB-S + DVB-IP and no other sources. As an EPG data source I only use DVB-S (EPG Refresh plugin regularly updates EPG data every night).

Try to reinstall the entire OpenWebif from the OpenATV feed-server, including all of its dependencies.

By the way, you could write at the beginning that you only have the problem especially and only with the OpenWebif search box for EPG (in the web interface).
    ;-)

Maybe i have confused you, i'll try to be more clear

Zgemma h5: only for IPTV purpose. All start from a singular public m3u link, from that i manage personal bouquets and i manage the epg for my iptv channels based on a web database

Sky decoder: used for my dvb-s2 subscription and for public dvb-t channels

Even epg search plugin in the zgemma box is not working as stated in previous post: i can't type anything and i can't search in bouquet

Maybe i will try from scratch in the next days using an updated Image

There is really some BUG. I'm just trying to find the "Discovery" channel. Other channel names will find the search. Unfortunately not all.

If I'm looking for "Disco", something is going to be found.
However, when I search for "Discovery" or "Discover", nothing is found.
(Discovery in the EPG database exists)

It looks like when you search for channel names, nothing can be found (like an error message "Sorry no items found.").
Well, if you search for any text contained in EPG data, you will find it successfully.
I do not know if it should function properly.
    Maybe yes ?

Maybe it would be good to add a short code:

    1. search the text string in EPG data
    2. in case of failing to search the text string in EPG data, the code would look for a text string in the available channel names:
    - > if the channel name was found, an EPG window would be displayed through the function with the reference code of that channel
    - > once there is no text string even in the available channel names, you would see a "Sorry no items found." error message

Well the main purpose should be searching programs instead of channels.

I think that the core of the function involved is into ajax.py and more in depth the modules imported (basically functions from services.py)

Maybe i'm wrong but i suspect that something is messing up with charset (could not be the only reason, this is valid also for the plugin).

Two checkbox are missing in the epg search form in openwebif i think: fulldesc and bouquets only (two extra parameters that should bè or not passed to the Ajax functions)

I will investigate when i have more spare time

I'm start thinking about lamedb mismatch, i will try in next days to grab a localized version and work in the bouquets.

Delete the lamedb file. Then reboot the Enigma (commands: 'init 4 && sleep 15 && init 3'). And this file should be re-created by Enigma.

I do not think the bug would be in the lamedb file. A simple search dialog box on OpenWebif does not search for a text string in channel names, but only in EPG. It makes sense.

Best of course, if you were looking for a channel name and not just EPG. The search button would have to be renamed to "find text in EPG and channel names".

Yes the search is on epg (in the source code there is an option to extend the search not only in the title of the program but also in the description).

Maybe this option is not available because searching in description could take long time to be performed and lot of resources.

Yesterday i did a quick edit of a channel with e-channelizer and things seemed to go better (at least with the integrated epg plugin).

The source code for epg search is quite complex and calls external objects (and so methods and parameters).

I have grabbed a lamedb, satellites xml and sample bouquets based on satellite and DTT scans specific for italy and replaced it in the box.

When i have some spare time i will try to make changes to a single test bouquet mapping some fake sample dvb ts streams to be somehow matched with real entry of lamedb

Not. The source code is not complicated. It can be embedded in many ways. The question, however, is whether it pays to add another search function there.

Well, and with that lamedb, I still do not understand what you really want to do ? :-P Something wrong or something still does not work in your case ?
