ThemenstarterBox 1:Tiviar Alpfa PlusBox 2:Tiviar Alpfa PlusBox 3:VU+ Solo 4kI found Fancontrol2 plugin but it did not work att all either. The problem in to Fancontrol2 settings was that I could only chose 3pin or 4 pin fan and in my case I have 2 pin fan. What ever I try to change in settings nothing happend. With this plugin the fan still worked with low speed.

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOI've already written that the ExtraFanControl plug-in can only turn the FAN on and off according to the set boundary temperature. Can not regulate FAN speed.
The problem is also not the number of pins because the 2-pin and 3-pin are the same. Just the fact that the 3-pin FAN contains pulse detection for each rotation (reading the number of rotations per minute to check if the FAN rotates). The only 4-pin FAN already contains pulse (PWM) control (pin No. 4). FAN speed with 2 or 3 pins is controlled according to the height of the voltage.
The fan speed sensor (pin No. 3) is only for checking functionality (checking the Revolutions Per Minute - rpm). However, the speed control itself should work regardless of the sensor (for security - of course, it depends on the programmers of the plugin that they programmed the algorithm for the regulation).
Simply switching between 3 and 4-pin mode in the plug-in, only serves to determine PWM (4-pin) or voltage (2-pin and 3-pin) fan speed control.
- for example explaining pin assignments: https://allpinouts.org/pinouts/conne...cpu-4-pin-fan/
If a plugin in OpenPLi works, it should also work in OpenATV because system differences are really minimal. However, as I mentioned earlier, the problem may be less incompatibility between OpenATV and OpenPLi - minor differences. But I do not know exactly.
Unfortunately, the OpenMultiboot plugin just does not work. I also wanted to install OpenPLi into my box and get the latest plugin for you. So I can not help you right now. Perhaps someone else who knows the sources of the OpenPLI feed-servers directly can download the latest ipk package for you to try.
I have found an older version on the Internet (as I mentioned earlier) and specifically: enigma2-plugin-extensions-fancontrol2_experimental-git20120213-r0_mipsel and this may not work on newer devices at all.Geändert von s3n0 (19.01.2018 um 13:53 Uhr)

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOSo I finally managed to do it.
Directly from the OpenPLi 6.1 feed-server downloaded the current installation packages (2018/01/19).
Try them.
Of course, uninstall the previous one:
Code:opkg update opkg list-installed | grep fancontrol opkg remove name_of_the_installed_package

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOBut FanControl2 is depending on another plugins !
If you need they, so try install they before FanControl2 (or before ExtraFanControl) !
Use the OPKG command to verify if they were not installed on your device directly with OpenATV 6.1 installation:
Code:opkg list-installed | grep hdparm opkg list-installed | grep smartmontools
Code:opkg update opkg list | grep hdparm opkg list | grep smartmontools
If you want, here are two plugins directly from OpenPLi feed-server (I do not recommend them). However, I warn you - there is a risk of incompatibility with OpenATV. These plugins can be in a different version in OpenPLi and OpenATV. Simply OpenATV can use hard disk management modules other than OpenPLi.

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOIt is quite possible that your satellite box uses electronic speed control (without the possibility of software speed control) and all you have to do to turn the fan ON and OFF. The fact that the satellite box is overheating to OpenATV could be caused, for example, by the inadequate standby mode of the internal HDD. Hard to tell where the problem is.
What is the contents of an hardware device directory under the OpenATV image for your box ? According to the OpenPLi discussion forum, the device must be visible right there. So try the command:
Code:ls /proc/stb/fp
So, if "fan" link is there visible, then you can try another command:
Code:cat /proc/stb/fp/fan
In the OpenPLi 6.1 image, was the FanControl2 plugin working ?
Could you change FAN speed with this plugin (on your box with OpenPLi) ?Geändert von s3n0 (19.01.2018 um 21:03 Uhr)

ThemenstarterBox 1:Tiviar Alpfa PlusBox 2:Tiviar Alpfa PlusBox 3:VU+ Solo 4kThe contents of an hardware device directory under the OpenATV image is /proc/stb/fp/fan for my box. For your info OpenPli do not support Tiviar Alpfa Plus with E2 image and it is only OpenATV and OpenVIX. Tiviar Alpfa Plus has from beginning original image from Fortis and that was not E2 image. Just now I can`t get Fancontrol2 on my box but I can install the plugin but I can`t see the plugin and meny at all. I have uninstall/reinstall the plugin several times. Maybe my box need special solution for control fan.

Box 1:Vu+ Zero 4KBox 2:Vu+ Solo SE V2Box 3:Formuer F4-TURBOIt is true. A new box, needs new solutions, as it does not go with the crowd and uses different HW devices. Otherwise, the FAN control speed would work.
I thought you used OpenPLi and everything worked with it (fan speed control). Uhm ... so only the original firmware works correctly. And what about the original one? Connect to it via telnet/ssh to see everything in it exists. Whether there /proc/stb/fp/fan and to find out if you can read this /proc/stb/fp/fan.
Since you see in the OpenATV "/proc/stb/fp/fan" link, did you also try the "cat" command on this "/proc/stb/fp/fan" link? What data is stored underneath? That would interest me :-).
Code:cat /proc/stb/fp/fan
