    I can find satellites in North America that will blindscan very fast. One satellite at 97 West ku will blindscan with the Os Mini or Vu+ Duo2 in under 3 minutes. The blindscan will return around 300 services for this particular satellite. But other satellites are much slower. Some c band satellites can take 20 minutes for the blindscan to complete using the same receivers.

    The enigma2 blindscan for transponders is not terribly slow. Finding all of the transponders usually takes 2-4 minutes, but the Service Scan that follows the blindscan is usually painfully slow. The Service Scan on every enigma2 box that I own is painfully slow when compared to closed sourced receivers. I prefer the features of enigma2 over those of closed source receivers. Slow blindscans is just part of enigma2. It will stay this way until the Service Scan time can be improved.

    The blindscan on the Zero 4K should work ok for North America. Entries in the blindscan plugin have been added for APSK and DVB-S2x transponders. We would expect this receiver to be capable of finding DVB-S2x in a blindscan since has been added, and we could also expect the receiver to get 16/32 APSK transponders. The downside of the Zero 4K is it does not have many features.

    Here is a snippet of the Zero 4K blindscan plugin:

    def appendFrontendParams(self, data):
    if data[0] == 'OK':
    parm = eDVBFrontendParametersSatellite()
    sys = { "DVB-S" : eDVBFrontendParametersSatellite.System_DVB_S,
    "DVB-S2" : eDVBFrontendParametersSatellite.System_DVB_S2,
    "DVB-S2X" : eDVBFrontendParametersSatellite.System_DVB_S2X}
    qam = { "QPSK" : parm.Modulation_QPSK,
    "8PSK" : parm.Modulation_8PSK,
    "16APSK" : parm.Modulation_16APSK,
    "32APSK" : parm.Modulation_32APSK,
    I will look at getting the Zero 4K a bit later this year. It looks like something we could use in North America.

    Slow service scan? Then disable network scan before starting your blindscan. The service scan speed is not depending on the hardware/software but on the speed of your provider, e.g. how many times is the SDT sent etc.

    Hello dhwz
    Can you tell me where and how to disable network scan, the only place I see network scan is under the Manual Scan and not under the Blind Scan.
    Please let me know.
    Regards.

    Thanks very much for the suggestions and information!
    A network scan only works for pay satellite, which we cannot legally get with a fta receiver. So I hardly ever check the network scan box that is located in the blindscan plugin menu.
    Most satellite channels we get would be considered feeds, and these feeds usually are not listed or made publicly available on sites such as Lyngsat. This is the reason we need blindscan. Transponder frequencies or symbol rates may also change.

    Any Enigma2 receiver that I own may sit on one of our feed transponders for several minutes before resolving or completely searching it it. A closed source receiver like the Octagon SX88 may completely blindscan the entire satellite in the same amount of time the enigma2 receiver can search two or three transponders. The Service Scan speed depends on several things, but overall, enigma2 Service Scan is extremely slow on our satellites as compared to a closed sourced receiver that has a good scan capability.

    We think there may be some DVB-S2x transponders that may be available, so a receiver like the Zero 4K which appears to have a DvB-S2x blindscan is interesting to us.

    Hello All
    Does anybody know if the HD51 is compatible with this options:

    "DVB-S2X" : eDVBFrontendParametersSatellite.System_DVB_S2X}
    qam = { "QPSK" : parm.Modulation_QPSK,
    "8PSK" : parm.Modulation_8PSK,
    "16APSK" : parm.Modulation_16APSK,
    "32APSK" : parm.Modulation_32APSK,

    let us know.
    Regards.
