    HDMI-IN options in Extension-selection

    Hi there,

yesterday i installed openatv 6.1 on my Xtrend et10000.
the image works fine, but in the Extension-selection there are 2 extra options for HDMI-IN.
i don't need these options in the Extension-selection, because i have a HDMI button on my rc.
maybe other rc models (for boxes with an HDMI-IN) don't have a HDMI button. in that case these options in the Extension-selection are handy.
could the appearing of these options in the Extension-selection, be made optional by user ?
maybe with an extra setting in the OSD-settings.

or even better, make the Extension-selection sorting 'user defined', just like the 'menu enteries' and the 'plug-in browser enteries'.
then i could move the options in the list.
now it's only possible to sort the Extension-selection in an alphabetical order, or not.

making the appearing of the HDMI options in the Extension-selection optional by user, AND making the Extension-selection sorting 'user defined' would be perfect.

    Hello.
Why do not you use the standard plugin menu (green button on the remote control) ?
There you can freely move or hide all items as needed.

    Hi s3n0,

no offence, but do you really think your suggestion is a solution ?
the content or solution of a reply is more important than the reply itself.

there are options in the Extension-selection that are not in the plugin-browser.

    Hi there,

EXTENSION with the icon mean PLUGIN. Extension list is useless. Plugin MENU is a correct graphical interface designed specifically for fast plug-in calling (or for extension calls).

I absolutely do not understand the use of your extension-selection MENU. Why and what do you use it for ? Time saved ? I see only the disadvantages. There is no support for it. Even the plugin-MENU can be omitted and using the quick buttons - via the remote control. After configuring the remot control HOT buttons, we can call the extensions one by one by pressing the button.

Definitely I do not bother to do anything. It's your thing. Your opinion. You can also enjoy the command-line shell if you feel that the more complicated way is the best. Peacefully, for example, to use the YouTube plugin, use a terminal, putty, shell, it's your thing :-).

You must always explain why you want to use it or what benefits you have from it. Otherwise, no one will help because people do not see the reason to use it.

    That's not true.
The Plugin-Browser is used to see, which plugins are how to configure, and some of them can be called there.
The plugin-Menue is populated by the plugins, where they may be called in a fast manner. Thats all OK. Only the sorting is not yet free formatted. May be, to a later time, if someone implements this feature there too.
    Grüßle

    Hi s3n0,

well, if the Extension menu is useless, then why is it (still) there ?
and who has decided that it is useless ?
the appearing of the HDMI options is decided in the Screen: InfoBarGenerics.py / class InfoBarHdmi (line5030) enigma2/InfoBarGenerics.py at 6.1 * openatv/enigma2 * GitHub
if the Extension menu is useless, then why create the HDMI or other options there ?

i can change it myself, python is more my thing, than shell-scripts.
the box has been running openatv 6.0 untill yesterday. these options were not in the Extension-selection.
in openatv 6.1 they are there, and because i could not find a setting for these options appearing in the Extension-selection, i searched and found where this is done. in the Screen: InfoBarGenerics.py
so, that's why i suggested an extra setting for it.

but if the Extension menu is useless like you say, then my suggestion is pointless. i understand that now.
thank you for your help and explanation.

    grt Lucifer

Edit: @Papi2000, thanks for the info.

Personally, if I need anything: repair, debug, check, configure, and so on ... and this is not the case in Enigma2 conceived as a full-featured plugin with Plugin-MENU icon, so I have no problem doing so: via MENU -> Settings in OpenATV or via PUTTY (linux shell) or via FTP (editing configuration files).

I personally do not need any extension-list or Extension MENU. For quick access, you can use the hot keys of the remote control or simply the standard graphical Plugin-MENU. Usually, everything that a user needs or uses often can be found in the graphical Plugin-MENU.

I'm only a short user (1 year) for Enigma2, but I'm a former system programmer. From the perspective of the programmer, the source code is still one and the same - it does not matter whether it is an extension, plug-in, configuration, daemon service, etc. .

Everything can be changed, edited, set, tuned, especially without using any "MENU". That's why I think the only dependable and usable Graphic Plugin-MENU is. Everything else is already stinking with programming, so it means sitting down to your PC and solving problems (via terminal or linux shell, via FTP connection to the set top box, etc.).
