    rebuild enigma2.bb

    Hi m8,

    i have successfully built the img but i need to edit the enigma2.
    How can i just rebuild the enigma2.bb only for my machine.

    i tried afew methods but always got "bitbake not found".

    Can someone show me the correct steps to recompile the enigma2.

    Million thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Goto your build environment. Then
    cd builds/openatv/release/<box>
    source env.source
    MACHINE=<box>
    MACHINEBUILD=<...>
    DISTRO=openatv
    bitbake enigma2

    (out of my mind)
    Regarding machinebuild look into Makefile.

    If you want to adapt enigma2 sources, you should better clone the e2 git. Then execute same commands as above except the last. Execute instead.
    bitbake -f -c compile -b <path to e2 git clone>/enigma2.bb
    In the e2 directory you can afterwards find the enigma2 binary.

    @Master Betacentauri,

    i tried the
    bitbake -f -c compile -b <path to e2 git clone>/enigma2.bb on the clone E2.
    I can only get enigma2,bin of 22mb.

    Can you tell me how to strip it to the 2mb size so i can use in my box.

    Million thanks in advance.

    If your flash is big enough, you can already use it on your box. For which box do you build the e2 binary?

    If you have build complete image at the beginning the strip utility should be present:
    cd <builddir>/builds/<distro>/release/<box>/tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/usr/bin/mipsel-oe-linux
    ./mipsel-oe-linux-strip <e2 binary>

    Path can differ a little bit depending on your system. If you use a 32 bit linux x86_64-linux directory has different name.

    I managed to "solve" it by simply rename the old edited file and make update again.
    not sure if that is the right way. hehe

    Master Betacentauri,

    I did a patch and apply to the enigma2.bb @ meta-oe-alliance/meta-oe/recipes-oe-alliance/enigma2
    But today there is some update to it and when i do a "make update".
    i get the below. i tried using git stash and etc then git pull but i still get the below.
    How do i do a proper update? Thanks for your patience and guidance.
