For the GigaBlue boxes there is an GBit-LAN adapter directly:
"Gigablue Gigabit LAN Adapter für Gigablue SE / UE und Quad Serien", Link to the manual: https://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j...Hj8O3ll7kcKReK
    Chipset might be "AX88178 Chipset".

    @robbedoeske:

This rtl8153 chipset adapter should be compatible with the rtl8150 chipset drivers: RTL8153 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

However, I doubt you will be able to install it. Try and see. If you already have one, why don't you try it in OpenATV ? :-P

    Code:
    root@formuler3ip:~# opkg list | grep rtl815
    kernel-module-rtl8150-4.10.6 - 4.10.6-.5 - rtl8150 kernel module
     rtl8150 kernel module; rtl8150 based usb-ethernet driver

And you don't get an error message, while trying to install the kernel-module-r8152?
I cannot find your mentioned module, only:
    Code:
    Welcome to openATV for gbtrio4k
    openatv 6.3 gbtrio4k

    gbtrio4k login: root
    Password:
    root@gbtrio4k:~# opkg list |grep rtl815
    kernel-module-rtl8150-4.4.35 - 4.4.35-.29 - rtl8150 kernel module
     rtl8150 kernel module; rtl8150 based usb-ethernet driver
    root@gbtrio4k:~#

    Welcome to openATV for GBQuad4k-3
    openatv 6.4 GBQuad4k-3

    GBQuad4k-3 login: root
    Password:
    root@GBQuad4k-3:~# opkg list |grep rtl815
    kernel-module-rtl8150-4.1.20-1.9 - 4.1.20-r10 - rtl8150 kernel module
     rtl8150 kernel module; rtl8150 based usb-ethernet driver
    root@GBQuad4k-3:~#
So you might repeat the installation by trying:
    Code:
    opkg install kernel-module-rtl8150
    depmod -a
    modprobe rtl8150

    The package name is: kernel-module-rtl8150-4.10.6
And not as you mentioned: kernel-module-r8152

You can find the name of the package as I mentioned above or as Papi2000 said:
    Code:
    opkg update
    opkg list | grep rtl815

The "lsusb" command displays the connected USB device (device ID). That means nothing.

Does it need to be activated in the OpenATV GUI-MENU ? Why do you use Shell for these purposes ? However, this should also work through the Plugin MENU installation and then through the Network Management menu. The functionality is ideally verified by setting up the USB NIC adapter and then activating it - ideally through the GUI MENU in Enigma.

I am not a computer networker so I can not help. Nor did I ever need to install a USB NIC in the Enigma, so I have no experience in this regard.

Example: networking - How to set up an usb/ethernet interface in Linux? - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange
