    DVB-T USB compatible with dreambox and OpenATV

    Hi
    I'm trying to buy a usb DVB-T or T/T2 to get it to work with my DM520
    based on your experience, which one do you recommend to use for the dreambox 520 and works well with OpenATV
    I appreciate your help

    you must check build in support kernel 3.4 then you buy a stick for dm520

    dvb-t dip0700 it0913 works, modern hybrit dvb-c/t/t2 use newer drivers all not works with old dm kernel

    If you are only looking for DVB-T, than you can get a cheap RTL2832U stick.
    ROHS Digital USB TV Stick FM+DAB DVB-T RTL2832U+R820T Support SDR Tuner Receiver | eBay
    I'm using one on my VU Solo 4k and it works fine, just need to install the RTL2832U driver from the OpenATV feed.
    And you can also use that stick as a SDR (software defined radio) so you can listen in to police/aircraft communication etc.

    Also there is a cheap dvb-c/t2 combo stick, but i think only the recent kernels work with that at the moment. (is a topic on the openpli forums about that stick)

    I cant tell you if they work on your dm520, as i dont own that box.
    However the cheap RTL2832U sticks do work on my solo 4k (arm) and dm800se with OpenATV.

    If you want more certainty you can checkout the Sundtek sticks, those are better supported in Engima2, but you pay +90 euros for those.

    Quick follow up, I will need your help guys
    I bought this Hot Sale DVB-T + DAB + FM Radio Realtek RTL2832U R820T software defined SDR HDTV | eBay installed OpenATV latest image for DM520, downloaded the rtl2832 drivers from plugin panel but didnt recognize the usb tuner, I tried another image OE2.2 and even OE2.5 and still nothing. I tried both usb ports without success. I then tried plugging just a pen drive and I didn't see it on the device list. I have a DM800se, tried almost all of what I said above and nothing
    I'm not sure if it's a vtuner issue or driver issues or my usb ports are faulty!! not sure if something needs to be done before hand tor what
    I'm not sure how to see a log of what's happening.
    Please provide some assistance here

    Just installing the driver from the feed and a restart should be enough. Then it should be in your tuner overview.

    If you Telnet into your box and type :

    Code:
    uname -a
    Than it will show you your the kernel version.

    Also try to do this, insert the stick and then type :

    Dmesg
    It will show you the log and if the stick is found etc.
    And this for showing the usb devices:

    And this will show you the packages that are on the feed for the rtl2832 stick. :
