+1 to Lightwizzard's posting. I have seen lots of complaints about the Solo4k in other E3 forums. Not sure if it is against board etiquette to refer to other distros forums, but this particular one has been very vocal about the driver issues and lack of support from VU+ to fix the issues. I don't know if it is VU+ or Broadcom at fault here, I have heard some comments that Broadcom can be very slow in releasing driver updates so perhaps VU+ are stuck waiting on Broadcom. Either way there appears to be more disgruntled Solo4k users than happy ones, at least on this other forum.

    One thing I never understood:

If GB had an OFFICIAL Ci+ license, it would also be obliged to implement the CI+ limitations (recordings etc.). Is this really the case?

I have tested the Gigablue UE PLUS and it does not work with CI+ from Scandinavia, i cant understadn how they have CI+ license but still do not work.
Vu+ is do not work either.
Have tested with many images , from Openatv that is my choise, Openpli that i love and so other image like vix, sif, vti and so on, but no one works with CI+

the only box that is working for the moment is the Mut@nt, at list in my case and for Viasat CI+

Any comments referering VU+ Solo 4K and CI+ ??, XBMC compered with GigaBlue HD Quad Plus (current model) who have CI+/XBMC? GigaBlue indicate CI+ on all model inside but not VU+?
I've had a Vu+ Solo4K since April 2016, and it works fine in all respects. You can use CI+, but you have to buy a separate Conax card adapter for that. The limitation with this is the fact that if you record any encrypted antenna channels using Conax card all other encrypted channels will be blocked. You of course can use a softcam but it will not support any HD-channels on antenna.
