Strange that people say it's a clone.
The geant is an original box and use the same chipset.
The hardware however is not the same, so when you install d-cube software it will not work.

You are right, the hardware is something different. But you can easy compile the D-Cube R2 E2BMC with little changes for the Geant 88HD.

What do you mean by compile

In my opinion it's 100% driver related and nothing to do with E2BMC.
The D-cube driver will not work in the Geant model. That's because the hardware is not the same.

Why, is already answer.

1. Hardware is not same
2. The drivers from d-cube will not work on other models.
3. Drivers from geant miss dvb-api support. It use nxp/trident/entropic api

But the developers of E2BMC do not porting E2BMC to other boxes, either because they do not have time or manpower for that, or they just do not want or can it.

You mean that driver developer from d-cube should make drivers for other companies? So you say with other examples Apple need to make drivers for Samsung and Dreambox should make drivers for VU?

When you had some technical background you should know that E2BMC is just a platform.
I can install enigma2 platform from say VU+ duo2 on a mutant HD2400 and only replace the drivers to get it work.
