Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image

Part2: the first update.zip have a small issue the green Easy Flash option not working,

So we show you, how prepare a sdcard with openATV enigma2 Image to start you u5pvr with e2

    prepare:

    1) you need a Windows PC
    2) a new SD Card good was 4gb or more, i use a 16 gb hc model
    3) you need a sdcard pc reader or usb adapter
    4) download win32diskmanager and install the tool
    5) download last image from here: openATV Nightly Downloads
    6) extract the download image
    7) insert you scdard with a usb sdcard adapter to you pc
    8) ignore Windows message box SD card not formatted close only the message boxes when you see the info
    8) start Win32 Disk Imager with Admin rights !

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-w1.png

    9) select the sdcard.img and select your sdcard drive

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-w2.png

    10) press write and your sdcard all infos was delete and the image was installed to the sdcard, this take some min´s

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-w3.png

    11) now sd card was ready, insert the scard now in your u5pvr box

    12) start U5pvr and you see in the Display "Menu" press blue button E2 now starting

now you have E2 Running but we must Update the kernel, in the update.zip was only a Kernel from a openATV Beta Image and we must replace it

    13) insert a USB Stick witch more as 2 Gb free space in any free usb port

    14) Flash Online the last openATV Image again, now the Kernel was updatet too !

watch video you see how the flash works

    15) you now ready for openATV enigma2

PS: with new coming Android update and fixed green easy Updater first Install was much easier.

If you're on a Ubuntu based system it seems you can also use the USB image writer to write the image to the card:

Hmm, there still seems to be a problem. When I select E2 in the boot menu, the LCD shows "E2" but nothing happens. So maybe the image wasn't written correctly to the card. On the other hand, there's content on the SD card. Any idea what could be wrong?

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-gp-bild1.png

(in meinem Fall: /dev/sdb)
Dazu rechte Maus-Taste aufrufen und "Aushängen" auswählen

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-aushaengen.png

Mit rechte Maus-Taste betätigen und "löschen" bestätigen

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-loeschen.png

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-bestaetigen.png

Die leere SD-Karte muss jetzt so aussehen

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-leeresd.png

    Beschreiben der SD-Karte

Die zu brennende Datei auf dem Schreibtisch ablegen (z.B openatv-6.2-dinobot4kse-20180124.sdcard.img)

    Terminal öffnen und den Befehl:
    sudo dd bs=1M if=/home/marcus/Schreibtisch/openatv-6.2-dinobot4kse-20180124.sdcard.img of=/dev/sdb
eingeben (marcus ist mein Benutzername, statt marcus, euren verwenden )
Anschließend müsst ihr euer Passwort eingeben.

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-dd-terminal1.png

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-dd-fertig.png

Part2: Prepare SD Card with openATV Image-sd-beschrieben.png
