HDR support
Hi,
I tried to play 4k HDR file via DLNA using build-in player and it worked fine except HDR. My TV was not switched to HDR mode. The same file displays with HDR when played directly on TV using Kodi. Is HDR supported by OpenATV?

DLNA not really a protocol which is good support by Enigma2. Probably the problem lies here as on one of the few enigma2 4K boxes it should work because of the Hisilicon
Check your settings in the menu of Enigma2 if this is set right. HDR is not a format but it's probably HDR10 or HLG called in E2.!Deutsch ist nicht meine mutter sprache, so sprachfehler kann auftreten!

ThemenstarterAll my settings regarding HDR are set to auto (which is default).
I don't believe that DLNA can be a problem. In fact DLNAbrowser uses djmount that uses FUSE underneath to export DLNA source as Linux filesystem (in userspace). So from media player's point of view it is the same as running from any other source like NFS/SMB/USB or even build-in NAND. It's just a file.

ThemenstarterSo I tried to change HDR settings in E2 menu. The result is that setting HDR10 switches TV to HDR mode but does it permanently - even on non HDR sources (like regular Full HD TV channel) which is not desired because (most likely) Zgemma does same magical upscaling which I don't want. I'm aiming at HDR passthrough. Auto mode for HDR should switch TV to HDR when it plays HDR content.
My guess is that Media Player doesn't send HDR metadata to the output device when HDR is set to auto which makes mi think that in general E2 doesn't passthrough HDR metadata but rather relies on its own software implementation of tone mapping etc.
