ThemenstarterCool, thanks for the link.
A few more questions, just to be on the safe side. The InfoBarGenerics.pyo I want to replace is at this location (usr/enigma2/lib/python/Screens/) in my box, right?
So, what I wanna do is copy the code off that version you just linked, and paste it into a file which I'll name InfoBarGenerics.py, like you explained in one of your earlier posts. Then I will ftp this. py file over to that location, I'll rename the current .pyo file to something like InfoBarGenerics-old and reboot which will compile the file into .pyo. Are these all the right steps? If something goes wrong, I'll just restore the old file, and no harm no foul?Geändert von veronik96 (26.12.2016 um 14:18 Uhr)

Box 1:Octagon SF3038 SSTBox 2:Azbox MEIf it's working ok for you maybe you can delete or rename the py from the box, otherwise it keeps compiling it on restart.

ThemenstarterOk, thanks a lot guys, you've been very helpful. I think I'll give this a try later this week and I'll make sure to delete the py file afterwards. I've already set the timeout to 0 in the py file, and hopefully that'll do the trick. I'll let you know how it goes.
On a slightly related note, since I mentioned I'm still on 5.1 yesterday and I'm about to mess around with my box anyway, if I wanted to also update to 5.3 over the next few days, what's the best course of action to keep all my settings and plugins? I've never done this before, when I first got this box last December I installed 5.1 off a usb stick and it's been like that ever since. Is it worth it to upgrade to 5.3? Should I do the flash online from within software management to make sure I can restore all my plugins and settings?
