Thema: Image size - Free space

Hi everyone!

Just flashed the AZbox Elite HD with OpenATV 4.2, the issue is the available space:

root@azboxhd:/etc/tuxbox# df -k
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 181500 180700 0 100% /
tmpfs 64 0 64 0% /media
tmpfs 50980 276 50704 1% /var/volatile

Would it be possible to create an image with more available space? Which workaround do you advise? (no usb or DOM workaround)

If not already done format your dom when installing the image with ext2
and the second solution is just remove everything you don't need ;-)

Changing the filesystem to ext2 would be my last resort. I've followed your advice, removed what i don't use.

I didn't wanted to mount an USB PEN, but i have no choice. So I've mounted a USB Pen with 1Gb. Then in edited the /etc/fstab file, added a new line:

/dev/sda1 /media/hdd ext3 rw 0 0


I think this is the more elegant way of getting more space, we should run away from the EXT2 FileSystem.

Interesting issue:

checking used storage on AZbox ME and AZbox HD Elite

AZbox ME

AZbox HD Elite

tmpfs 0 0 0 0% /media
tmpfs 50 0 50 1% /var/volatile

Does the compiled image for AZbox HD Elite (old Models) have garbage?

The Media Player works on the AZbox ME without any issues playing MP4 files and *.SRT subtitle files.
